What fun for your school's team to be in the playoffs. I'm pulling for them too: GO COMANCHES!
How lousy that you're still having problems with food tasting bad. Did your doctor tell you an estimation as to how long it will take your ulcers to heal? Losing 10 pounds is good but a lousy way to have to lose it!
My eats for today:
B - Coffee
L - Apple, 2 scrambled eggs with chopped veggies
D - Going to dinner so not sure but will be ON TRACK
Have a great BOTT day!!

I just replied to a later post and then here you are.....ON TRACK already!! YEA YOU!
Giving up the carbs you have is a big accomplishment. I could and HAVE lived on carbs. To keep my carbs in check, especially the sugary, junky ones, I remember that eating carbs is really a vicious cycle. The more we eat, the more we want and the harder they are to give up and get out of that cycle.
I'm very glad you joined our group. I'm really like your posts such as Never give up in this one. It is so true and you writing it is a wonderful reminder.
Big kudos to you for being on track!

For me, getting back on track after being off for more than a week or so, is very hard. I get into the mentality of "I'll do it tomorrow" which is a variation of I'll go back on my diet on Monday, 1st of next month, New Years, and on and on.
Are you trying to do too much? Maybe take one of your habits, such as grazing or eating too many carbs, and work on just that one. When you create momentum of even a couple of days, it propels us to continue on.
If you decide on grazing, stop grazing for that day, then the next up to 3 weeks or a month. After you've got one habit down, move on to the next one you want to change. If stopping to graze is too big, make your goal not to graze after Noon or some specific time.
I've had two (yes, two, not just one but TWO) periods of regain. Breaking down being on track into more manageable habits worked for me. It was way too overwhelming otherwise.

You really nailed it - "We've got to take care of ourselves, and let the grown men take care of themselves." When it comes to shopping or cooking, you do what is right for you and he can do the same for himself.
My younger son used to be super picky. Cooking for the family became a big dramatic issue because he didn't like it, wouldn't eat it, etc. I quit bothering cooking for awhile because it was a hassle. We decided to make whatever for dinner and if he didn't want to eat it, then he waited until breakfast to eat.
Now, that was a child but it worked. You know what you want to buy and eat, let him do the same. Let him take the responsibility for managing himself and see how that works for him LOL.
Here's an article on Food Pushers that might have some suggestions that might be helpful.

With your medical issues, medications and major stress, just one of those would be tough to deal with and you have all three, plus your husband and the kids. That is a lot!!
Not to have your husband's support about getting back on track is difficult but it just means that you have to build your own support system. Do you have other family members, friends or co-workers that you could turn to? You definitely have us here on BOTT. Post to us here just like you did with this post.
A suggestion on the junk stuff in your house. If you are the one that does the grocery shopping, buy things you don't like. That's what I do and it helps.
Maybe think about not telling your husband when you're starting to get back on track and when you are. Tell us, tell your selected support people. Have support people that believe in you and your goal to be on track and lose your regain.
Keep telling yourself that "I can do this" or some other phrase that helps you. YOU CAN DO THIS!!

Really working hard, and making progress.......
Glad to say I'm stringing more and more "good days" together again, and the scale is moving down again.
It hasn't been easy. It's an ongoing battle. I was so optimistic in the beginning....weight was dropping steadily. Then I guess I got complacent. Lots of NSVs, feeling better, feeling good. Started taking things for granted. Trouble started a few months ago...decided to add low carb pita bread and have sandwiches .... initially I kept my carb numbers down......then started going over - one day, then two..... Did not gain weight -- in fact when I went to the Weight Center two weeks ago, I had lost 10 pounds. But I know if I stuck to the program it would have been 20 - 25 pounds. I've been trying to stay on track all along, and I'm finally back on track. I've eliminated the pita bread....no more sandwiches, no more cheez-its, no more popcorn.
I can't mess around - I've got to lose 60-70 more pounds to reach my goal. My one year surgiversary was 5/14, and I don't have much time left in the "honeymoon stage" and I need to make the most of it.
Never give up. Never give up. Never give up. It's a life-long battle. We're never "cured". Wi**** was different, but it's not. Have to accept that fact, and continue on.
Coming here daily helps so much -- loads of information and support. Thanks Everyone!
Mary
We all have those days. It's a struggle, for sure. You just have to keep trying, no matter how many times you fall. I'm just beginning to string "good days" together again. I've been "off track" for several weeks, but I know I can do this -- never give up the ship!
