Back On Track Together
Friday, April 5th, Cardio & Cafe
Glad everyone is doing good! I had a great day and just thinking about what I will share on here keeps me focused! Today, I wore a pair of pants I haven't been able to wear since I began the job of not smoking! Felt wonderful all day.
I understand how hard it is to not binge at group potlucks! I work for the state government, social services. and the agency is always having bake sales, pizza sales, chili cook offs, etc etc etc..to raise money for protective services/foster children. Great to sample everyone's cooking but not good on my lifestyle. You might try bringing a low calorie high protein dish (for yourself) or lots of sugar free chocolate pudding. Back in my first 6 months after surgery I brought my sno cone machine with sugar free flavors to potluck for desert! It is possible to participate and still be low calorie high protein without being obvious but it does take a bit of creativity!
Keep your eye on the prize...healthy living!! Everyone have a great weekend!
Hi Debra,
Now that is verrryyy interesting to me. A sno cone machine. I am addicted to ice, and rarely get my hands on shaved ice, which is like heaven on earth. Where did you get yours? I haven't owned a sno cone machine since the little kiddie ones you got at Christmas, several years ago.
Gotta get online now and find one. If I had that machine, I'd probably never eat anything other than ice (jk)!
Good evening, BOTT friends.
It's 11:45 pm and I'm just finishing my bike workout for tonight. Got a late start because I was attending my twin daughters' birthday party. It was just a little get-together with pizza, cake and ice cream....close family and a couple friends. I took a few slices rotisserie turkey and munched on that while they ate pizza and dessert. I'm telling you...I had absolutely no desire for either...period.
I came home, got on my bike and did 43 minutes at a slow to moderate pace, covering 5 miles. I feel wonderful, and I'm going to finish up my water for today while I watch late night tv.
Today I ate:
B: 1 egg and 1/2 c eggbeaters, 2 sl turkey bacon, apple slices
S: 1/2 protein bar, 1/2 oz natural almonds
L: 3 ozs low sodium deli ham on 1/2 sandwich thin, mustard
S: 3 ozs rotisserie turkey, 1/3 c jardiniere vegs, 1/2 c fresh strawberries
D: protein bar, 1/2 c natural almonds
Good night, and sweet dreamzzzz!
