Thinking how I will maintain my weight lose once I hit my goal.

While I have so much time on my hands, I've been thinking.  Today, I am 14 pounds from hitting my weight goal of 180 pounds (30 pounds down).  Really I am very comfortable at 180 pounds wearing a size 12/14 or a size 12 plus size and I like the way my face looks.  12 years ago this July my doctors told me not to be upset if I hit 188 pounds and stay there but I dropped to 155 and slowly hit 178/180 pounds within the 2nd year and stayed there for the past 10 years.

So, I may drop to 170/175 in the next few months and slowly put back on a few pounds to adjust to hit 175/180 pounds and I am good.  But, what to do once I hit my goal to maintain my new weight lose.  Since, I've stripped down no white potato, no white rice, no pasta, no real bread, no wine, etc.

I know I will stay with my Protein Shake (Coffee, flavored, or Fruit Smoothie) everyday and a Protein Bar as a snack because it works for me in the morning.  And I will have to make myself stay with a 5 day 35/45 minute work out a week.

So, I am thinking WW to help me bring back in so food items for at lease 1 month to learn to re-eat.  And since I have a culinary arts degree I know I need to keep the fatty stuff out of my diet.

So, what are your plans to maintain once your back in control?  Love to hear about it!

I added more fat and had to increase proteins based on my lab results.

Carbs stayed the same. But I do have a "bank" I can use - I can eat some carbs some days and not "gain' ... that is the extra treat. Usually I end up with extra fruits, or some good quality chips and do not feel too guilty about that.  Now  do 90-10 90% of the time I eat healthy and what I need. But the 10 % - still food that is good for me - but may have some extra carbs.

i,e. Today I had lunch and was not really too concern about the fat in the gyro or the hummus. Would not even measure it.  Ate until I was full.

I can safely add some fat to my diet - not only that keeps my BS more stable (with my RH) but it makes me fuller longer.  Love my butter, coconut oil, avocado...
Also - I do not count any carbs in greens: lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers... only starchy foods, dairy or fruits. The veggies are "free foods". (free also include mushrooms - that I add butter to.lol.)

Good morning.  You have made me think about taken another look at my current diet and start to make small changes.  I do know that once I've increase my calc count to 1400 I don't lose any weight which I think when I start my maintain piece will be my target.  I know I will need to move out some of the easy protein foods I've been eatting like the Protein Soups, Protein Pancakes, etc I do need to control how much leafy greens and green veggies I take in a day and it has to be the same every day because of my meds which effects my INR.

So, do health but don't deny myself.
