Went to bed early last night, then walk up a few times during the night. My cat decided at 5:30 am that I slept long enough ... but after I was up decided that I should not work on my computer but to allow her stretch on my laps and so she can go back to sleep... She is so cute that she does with me what she wants... I told my BF that she is little spoiled... His replay: "there is nothing little about how spoiled she is".  At the same time - he spoils her even more - if that ever possible...

eats today:
coffee+ almond milk
brazil nuts
salad with pork roast
jambalaya (the rest of it)
yogurt with protein powder or protein shake

I'm having an 'oral fixation' issue the later afternoon to late evening.  I'm not hungry, but I want to chew on something.  Have any of you had this problem and what do you use/do to get over it without adding food/calories?

Thanks!

yea... the chewing thing can be difficult. Sometimes I chew gum but then gum makes me hungry...
Drinking bit more water (flavored) or green tea helps more.
Some people like the raw carrots. Better - if you like it - may be raw celery.

I used celery as a crunch item in protein soups.  It felt like I was eating something but celery has virtually zero calories. I also use fresh cucumbers for that. They are mostly water - so little calories that they do not "count" NSA pickles can be also used for that.

BTW: your fat looks little bit low- IMO... you may safely remove some carbs - and add a bit more fat. (I do)

I have this 'thing' with gum.  Ever since I was a kid, I simply cannot chew it for more than a handful of chomps before swallowing it.

I'm not a huge raw celery fan, but I love fresh cucumbers and raw carrots.  I will definitely add those to my arsenal.

Thanks!

The celery is OK (neither I am a fan) in protein chicken broth, or even tomatoe protein soup.  Adds crunch.
Carrots are OK - but then again - they do have sugar - so easy on them. Too many carbs.

PS: I can't eat raw carrots - steak - fine - raw carrots - gets stuck every time, no matter how long or fine I chew them. It is the weirdest thing with my pouch.

Cold and cloudy today...I have the heater on in my office.  Disturbing to have such beautiful, warm, sunny weather and then have to go back to a winter coat.  Not much sleep again last night...little one is cutting her 2-year molars and had a tough night plus husband snoring because of a cold.

B - protein coffee
early L - chicken salad, chopped veggie salad
S - protein shake
S - if hungry, 2 hard boiled eggs, carrots with ranch dressing
D - undetermined protein and veggie
S - protein bar

I really wish I could figure out what is wrong with my body! I am bloated and "puffy" in my abdominal area and for the life of me cannot get off these extra pounds! Iv'e been eating 1000-1200calories a day and running or bike riding for an hour atleast 4 times a week. My pcp thinks that 1200 cals is too low for me. I am very confused and discouraged. my protein is usually 80-100 grams a day. Any suggestions?

Could you post what you ate yesterday and today so that we can get an indication of what your food day is like?  Are you drinking plenty of fluids?  Are you drinking with your meals?  How is your vitamin intake?  With a little more information, maybe we can see something else that you can do.

Tess I drink 72 ozs of water. I have a little water jug that I bought from Natural Grocers and I fill it up in the morning and sip on it all day. Aside from that I drink 2 16 oz. cups of coffee in the morning and hot tea before bed. So my fluids are alot. Here is what I had yesterday and today, I usually stick to the same foods for the most part.

B: Greek yogurt plain with splenda or a protein shake, I only do 4 oz. protein shakes
S: boiled egg w/ lf string cheese or a protein bar
L: Protein bar or shake
S: Skinny vanilla latte from Starbucks
D:Chicken breast with frozen broccoli a little butter and salt on it.
S:almonds and 30 minutes after I have green tea

on occasion I will eat a peice of fruit but not often

Thank you for your help!

Your food list looks really good.  Are you close to goal?  I have noticed on myself that for the last 3 months I have bounced between 156 and 158.  I can not seem to get past this weight which was what I weigh in 2008.  I picked out my personal goal of 145 lbs. but it looks like my body will fight me for it.

It looks like your body may be fighting you also.  All I know to do is just keep doing what you are doing.  I am looking at this as maintenance practice for myself and eventually, my body may let me go down another ten pounds.

I think the only way I am going to get the remainder of my weight off is to up my exercise and for now, I am not ready to commit to two hours a day exercise.

I wish I could offer you more but I understand what you are going through.  Just keep posting and hopefully something that you do or eat will trigger your body that it is okay to drop a few pounds.
