Frustrated Beyond Belief - Advice Please

what is (bf) in this post..and do you only count net carbs or are you talking about 90 g carbs period...i am taking in 50 net carbs or trying not to go over ... help..lol

BF = boyfriend

I count net carbs (total carbs less fiber).  I use an app on my phone to track foods so that I dont go over the limits I have set for the day.  It helps a lot to pre-plan meals a day or two in advance.
I found that when I was eating THEN writing things down, I was consistently going over my limits...by a LONG shot.
Getting back on track 10yrs later after a REGAIN of approx 35lbs
Surgery weight:  277lbs             Goal/maintenance weight: 135lbs

I do not do much cardio exercise due to RH (reactive hypoglycemia - my BS will drop if I try to work too hard too long) - so I do try to get net 40-50 carbs. No more than that. Net = carbs - fiber.
Too much fiber = too much gas and possible constipation - so watch for that.  I try to stay at 30- 40 gr max fiber (no counting greens)
As other said BF - bf = boyfriend.  And I made a typo = It should say  " my BF will eat greens..."

gotcha..i calculated today and if i stay on track i have 74 carbs for day net 65 not sure if that is ok...i am wanting to loose...cant afford the nutritionist right now...I SOMETIMES get in a little cardio 15-30 min burn about 300 cal when i do the 30 min....IDK i know i can eat some carbs and still loose...just knowing how to eat properly...i feel lost...

I thinkthe issue isnot only the net carbs - but to make sure you get the carbs with proteins and fat. And try to avoid simple carbs - specially by themself.

i.e. fruit as a snack - with no proteins fat with it - may spike your insulin and prevent fat loss, But carbs in nuts (i.e) will work differently. Also - liquid sugar - carbs - affect me more than in foods. so milk- is out for me.. but I can have greek yogurt (and I mix it with proteins and berries) and have a meal out of it.

BTW: with my severe RH - I can be labeled as "meter to detect how carbs affect the insulin"
 Trail and errors I know how fast some food may be converted into sugars...

Ultimately, you will have to find what works for YOU.  We are all so very different.  You may need more calories, or you may need less.  You may need more protein and less carbs.  It really is hard to say.  Keep experimenting and don't get discouraged :)
