Back On Track Together
6 year Sugiversary- There and Back Again
Today is my six year anniversary of my WLS. I wanted to share with you the good, the bad, and the good again. I started this journey at 306 lbs. and at 15 months out, I was at my lowest at 151 lbs. but mostly hung out around 155 lbs.
My second year out, I had to have surgery for an incisional hernia. During this period, I gained about 10 lbs. back, not bad. Then the big set back came the next year due to economy, job, stress, anxiety and a lot of other things going on in my life that cause me to take care of others and forget about me. The carbs that year and a half, cost me another 60 lb. gain for a total of 70 lbs. over all.
Last May on Mothers Day my daughter asked me was I happy and was I taking care of myself. It was a wake up call. The next day, I came back to OH, I started back to basics just like a newbie and starting walking. At first, 20 minutes then up to 1 hour a day, every day. My husband has been my biggest supporter walking every step with me. I am proud to say that I took off 69 lbs. of the regain and now weigh in at 156 lbs.
My new journey now is to get a tummy tuck or LBL to get the remaining loose skin remove. This trip of mine has had its ups and downs but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I have never regretted it and I know if I had not had it, who knows what I would weigh today. I am very grateful to OH for being here so I have a place to come and find something out. It doesn't matter how long you have been a WLS graduate, I am happy to say that I learn something new from somebody everyday.
A heartfelt thank you to all my OH friends for sharing your journeys. They really do give people hope for their own success. I have tried to post pictures underneath, if they do not appear, click on my profile and you can see my before and after pictures.

Congratulations Tess! What an inspiration you are!! Weight regain is a reality that we all face. What we do about it is what matters. You have proven that you can in fact go back. You turned back to your support here on OH, you turned to your family for support and you turned to your Tool to help you get back to where you want to be.
Bravo and Kudos to you for accomplishing what you have in the last year. I think you're a rock star!
Congrats on your six very successful years!

Oh Tess!! You are a beautiful inspiration!!!
I looked at your pictures before and after (you are a beautiful lady in all of them, I have to add) but the gift of "youth" that you have re-created for yourself must feel priceless! You have such a look of radiance and zest for life! Congratulations and thank you for your encouragement, honesty, and proof that we haven't lost it...we just need to embrace it as we did from Day 1.
