Back On Track Together
So happy to have found this group--now to put it into action!
Hi All-
I had gastric bypass in September 2009. I lost around 100 pounds, but now I've gained about 20 back. I am no longer comfortable and I am terrified that I will go back to my pre-surgery weight. I need all kinds of help! Any advice/encouragement/pep talk would be so much appreciated!
I've started tracking my food on myfitnesspal, but I don't even really know how many calories I should be taking in, so it's hard to know where to go.
I look forward to getting "back on track" with all of you.
Thanks in advance for your support and feedback!

Hi Amanda:
Welcome to back on track. We have all struggled with regain but are finding our way back down. If you can remember how you first started on your wls journey that is what we have gone back to basics on. Don't drink with your meals and wait at least 30 minutes after the meal before you drink. Journal your food everyday, up your proteins to at 70-90 grams a day, lower your carbs under 100 net, avoid the evil white carbs, sugar, flour, sweets, potatoes, pasta, and bread. My calories started out at around 800 a day, now I eat around 1100 a day. Find some type of exercise that you would do at least 3-5 times a week. I walk everyday. If you have not had your labs done in awhile, make an appointment and see where you stand on all your vitamin supplements. Most importantly, check in daily to either post or lurk but just to see what is going on and be accountable to yourself. You caught yourself at a 20 lb. regain. Congratulations. I didn't catch mine until a 70 lb. regain. I am happy to report that in 9 months back on track that I have lost 69 lbs. of it. I am my old self again but much wiser this time. You can do this too. Glad you are here.
