Hi Botters!
I've been MIA, for a few days.  I'm having such a hard time not being able to sleep.  My eating is totally off.  Thankfully, I haven't gained.  I've been so depressed.  My sleep test came back yesterday, showing that I don't have sleep apnea.  Gee, should I be happy or sad!?  My GP told me to call my Psychiatrist to work out the problems.  It's not like this just started happening.  I've been on every type of sleeping pill and nothing has worked.  Hopefully, my new Psych. will help figure something out.  Otherwise, here's my plan, although I can't guarantee that I will be sticking to it.
2:00 Snack - thin bagel w/honey
Breakfast - mini frittata
Snack - protein drink
Lunch - ham, cheese and pickle rolls
Snack - ricotta cheese
Dinner - chicken breast w/veggies
Fage
Hope that everyone has a great day.
Deb

Happy Hump Day Botters:

Hi Deb, sorry your sleep test did not give you the reason for not sleeping well.  Do you have a snack close to bedtime?  I can not go to bed hungry or I will not sleep well at all.  I hope you find out what the problem is soon so that you can get some rest.  My eats and cardio for today are:

Prebreakfast:  Coffee & Miralax
Breakfast:  Chocolate Unjury Shake
Snack:  Quest Brownie Bar
Lunch:  Quest Apple Pie Bar
Snack:  Cheese & Crackers
Dinner:  Chocolate Unjury Shake
Snack:  NSA ice cream sandwich

I am going to give my body a rest today from cardio.  I plan on doing some strength training later in the evening.  Have a great day and remember to take your vits and fluids.

 Tess

Good Morning All,
Starting into Day 6 of the Master Cleanse and still sipping along. My energy level is good and overall I have no complaints. Drinking the same thing over and over is boring and noticing how I detect smells of foods around me is amazing. I have survived two dinner engagements and eating lunch daily with friends. I am enjoying watching the scale go down at the same time looking forward to a change in menu. Am I ever happy. Still exercising a little. So as in the previous days my basic menu:
2 tsp sea salt in 1 qt warm water
16 oz btl master cleanse for breakfast
24 oz btl master cleanse for lunch
16 oz btl master cleanse for dinner
8 oz smooth move senna tea before bed
I chew gum in between to keep my mouth going and control bad breath.
Have a great Wednesday.
Z
Hope you find relief soon Deb.

Good Morning!!

So, before I write anything, Ive been wanting to ask a potty question...

Since Ive been doing WW and eating so many fruits and veggies, Ive been spending an awful lot of time in the bathroom. Im already pretty regular, but its getting kinda ridiculous now. 2-3 times a day some days!! AND with my rny, there is no 'oh, just let me hold it till this meeting is over'. When I gotta go, I gotta go. Anyone have any tips? Hey, at least I know Im cleaned out!

And, Im starting to stress. Friday, one of our co-workers is taking us all out to lunch. Ted's Montanna Grill. I KNOW I can control myself and count everything. The problem is, now I have a dinner scheduled as well. This is going to be a tough one. I at least want to have a drink at dinner. I like to go out to eat and I shouldnt beat myself up for having one stress free meal and a drink, Im just afraid if I screw up now...Ive been doing so well. UGH!

Eats for today:

Coffee w/ cream
Was planning on Weight Control Oatmeal and banana, but Im not really hungry yet.
Garden Salad. Forgot my bar today, Maybe I can find some shrimp on the salad bar today.
Muscle Milk and Orange
Maybe a protein bar before Zumba
Grilled Chicken breast and roasted butternut squash

Its Zumba night! Have a great day everyone!

Mary - lots of BM is great.  Fast food transition helps with elimination and limit absorbtion (=limit calories).  So- the only thing IMO - try to increase proteins (so you don't get deficient) and if you want to slow down the process - increase fiber (fiber may absorb some water, so at least you will have more control...) but add little at a time. Activated charcoal (main pharmacy) - is great to really slow down everything and absorb odours...   Extar calcium (with no magnesium added ) or iron - lol... will sure take care of that also...

Thanks!

I didnt think of it limiting absorbtion. I should increase protein especially since Ive started working out so much more. I have been trying to have protein with my fruits so I dont get RH. That has been under control pretty well lately. My last sugar issue was 2 weeks ago in the middle of Zumba.

How has yours been?

Fiber usually makes me go as well! LOL maybe I'll give that charcoal a look see.

my sugar?  ... it is as always.  And since I lost some weight in January...my body hates me and I crash if I do not eat enough.
BTW: the fruits - frequent BM - may be like mini-dumps... that's why I don't do much fruits.  I dump on them.   loose BM... or some sugar crashes after.
And if I do eat them - fat is better for me to offset the BS issues - something like cheese, or nuts.
You may choose to limit the fruits.  and increase veggies.  BTW: tomato is a fruit...

I am so sorry you not sleeping well... At one time I had that issue... but my problem was that I could not go to bed early but then could sleep till noon if allowed.  Since I had to go to work - I was always tired in the morning, but could not fall asleep at night untill well after midnight... I was functioning on 3-4 hrs sleep during the week but was able to get some rest during weekends...

Adrenal study (reg doc could not find anything) so I went to natural doc - still MD - but also naturopath - and she did  study (expensive)on me. Beside candida, she found that my adrenals output was all messed up plus hormonal issue.
My circadian rhythm was all messed up,  so were my hormonal balance  (one week adrenal hormones saliva test, and whole month saliva study to determine the hormonal - for 2 months worth )

She recommended exercises - time and type, supplements, and other ways to correct that.

you may check that....

You never know... maybe one day - you can find an aswer.

Wow, H.B.,  Thanks for the info, I'll check it out.  Hopefully it'll help me out.  I saw my Psychologist today and he read the report.  He said that I do have a major problem.  All my GP read was that I didn't have apnea or RLS.  The results showed that I never reach a deep REM and that I was basically "awake" all night.  He also thinks that I'm running mania and had me make an appointment to see my Psychiatrist.  He is suggesting I go in to the hospital.  There's no way I could handle sitting up all night in a hospital bed, not being able to do anything.  Uggg, life really sucks sometimes.

Yesterday my BF took me out to "dinner and theater" show. The show was great (comedy based on local SC life) and the dinner was... interesting.

We ordered appetizer to share: bacon wrapped-scallops  in hollandaise sauce, with creamed spinach, plus I ordered grill fish with veggies.
I ate 2 (two) scallops and Tbs (or less) of the spinach. And I was done.  Full... The fish looked great... but I did not want any.  We took that home.  Some days - life as a post op RNY - can be frustrating.  I hope to have that for dinner tonight. (cat may help)

eats today:
coffee with coconut milk
1/2 wrap with cheese
protein bar (power crunch) x 2
soup or yogurt with proteins and berries
fish and green beans and spinach (from last night)
LNS: sunflower seeds, apple (maybe)

I have a hairdresser long-all the works - appointment today after work, so not sure how much time I will have to do any cardio.   will see... Need to go to bed early today.  last night we were back late and today had to get up at 5:30...
