Hi.  I am Wanda and I’ve been stalking the BOTT board for about 2 months now!

I had WLS RNY July 2000…Day of surgery weight was 309.5# however, like everyone else you had to lost weight prior to the surgery (unsure what those numbers were).  However, in the first year and a half I lost half of myself, my lowest weight was 154#.  Was advised by my doctor that my normal weight s/b 188# and I was OK with that.  I had been able to maintain 175# for years and had been very happy.  Until 2008 when the market tanked and I lost my job.  Off and on over the past few years my weight has been up and down my regain was as high as 224# as of October 2011.  Tried a few over the counter items and brought my weight down to 214# however over Thanksgiving I had some major health issues developed PE/blood clots in my lungs and was in the hospital for three days…my diet had to change.  I am no longer able to eat anything that has the vitamin K…so many veggies I can’t touch (limited intake) only three times a week only once a day no more than 1 cup.

So, very concern that my weight will once again get out of control. I talked with my doctor and he advise me for one month track my food intake and it seems I was intaken well over 1500 calc. a day so as of January first I dropped my calories to no more than 1200 as a goal…and I needed to get off the sugar.  I could eat a bag of Jelly beans and one sitting.  So, stalking the BOTT board I started detoxing by doing the 5 day pouch test it took me 4 tries and three complete weeks to finally get through a full 7 days of the pouch test without cheating.   You guys turned me on to the Bariatric Pantry (Love it) love the 70 calc Fruit Drinks and the Pancakes and soups!  I ordered a sample of the Quest Protein Bars…not a big fan (sodium is too high).  And I now add  2Tbsp of SF Pudding to my Vanilla Protein to jazzy it up!  I had been experiencing BM problems so I now add a cap of Miralax to my evening coffee to get things moving.

Since, January 1st I am down from 214 to 204 this morning.  And I work out 5/6 times a week and it vary 45 minutes a day and 2 days a week I work out in the morning and squeeze in a 30 minute Tae Bow PT 24/7 in the evening (30 minutes).

So, I want to say Thank you guys for posting as often as you do it helps…..

Hey New York Girl!!

Thanks for posting.  Some people lurk forever and never let themselves be known!  That sucks about the Vitamin K but it sounds like you really have a handle on it.  AND on your weight!  You are totally back on track and that is awesome to hear because it always inspires me.  Makes me think that I CAN do this...even when I am certain that I cannot.

Your workout schedule is also VERY inspiring to me.  I SO have to start something.  I dance around every night with my kids but I know I need to be doing more.

Congratulations for getting back on track!  Have a great day!

Hugs,
Jersey Mom
