Im officially down 6 pounds so far. Not bad for two weeks! Im pretty proud of myself for doing so well. Overslept Saturday and missed Zumba so I hit the gym. Was glad to get the sleep in, slept thru the night and I needed it. Hit the gym yesterday too and after the elliptical had an extra good upperbody strength training session to give my legs a break. Feeling it today, but its all good.
Made an awesome dinner last night. Shrimp fried quinoa. YUMMY!
Eats for today:
Coffee w/ cream
Kashi Go Lean hot cereal. This is pretty good. My first time trying it.
Strawberry Muscle Milk followed by Banana
Baby carrots and Pure Protein bar
Apple and cheese stick
Not sure whats for dinner.
Zumba tonight!
Yesterday my sugar crashed because I did not eat enough. I ate al the right foods, and followed the plan.. but my sugar crashed anyway. Even my BF noticed and felt sorry for me... He told me "You eat right and you still have issues... you can't win, can't You? " No I can't.
It is walking a thin line for me. Like for some many of RNY people. Eat carbs - get sugar crash, don't eat carb - get sugar crash issue... .
Anyway - today is a new day... so will do my best.
Coffee + coconut milk
Sunflower seeds
protein cookies
yogurt with proteins flax meal and blueberries (maybe)
protein bar (maybe)
Chicken and green beans or soup...

I saw the other day where you mention that you had a LBL. How long ago was that, how long were you off work and did it change your weight or just your pant/clothes size. I am looking into getting one this year if I can get my finances to cooperate. Thanks for your input.
If anything else- I did not have enough food that day. Weekends are always issue for me to get enough...
As for lBL -
1. off 2 months. Really needed that. min 6 weeks. IMO - with our without muscles tighning?
2. My weight did not change. My pants size did - from 6 to 4. Eventually. Initially with all the swelling - I had to go up a size, or 2 .
3. My worst issue was low iron and low proteins. Low B12. I could not recover. I was tired and tired and tired. My test were "normal" ... that what my doc told me... but after 6 months when I still was sooooo tired I had someone from here (Andrea) review my labs and she indicated to me that my iron was low (low ferritin - 11), my proteins were too low, (6.8) my D were low, my RBC were low (they still are) and my B12 was too low. I also had low BP...
The long anesthesia - 5-6 hrs is known to cause issue - post op depression, being tired. The antibiotics they give you - may cause trash - candida (craving carbs) ... the pain pills cause both depression and lack of appetite plus nausea... add constipation - and the last thing you want is to take extra iron and proteins.
If you want to do that make sure... that your B12 are in high numbers 1000-1500... and that you have enough iron and your ferritin are close to 100... so when they drop (they will drop - blood loss drop) - you still will be > 50.
If you had some depression issues post op RNY - you may see similar things post op any large surgery. Make sure you are prepared for low energy - depression post op LBL...
