Happy to find this group!
Hey Marisa!
I completely agree with what you said about having a baby and how it affects our lifestyle. I don't blame my weight on my pregnancy at all! It is the newborn effect. What I mean is...after I had my surgery, I focused more on "me" than I ever had before. I was hyper aware of everything I did and ate... But then I had the baby and, during the post-partum depression, I did not care about anything, including myself. After I healed from that, my focus shifted to taking care of my new little man. My weight journey was completely put on the back burner.
But, I am back on the journey. I know it is a life-long struggle but I would MUCH rather struggle at 160 than at 195! :)
So good luck to you, as well! Did you have a nice time when you went out? I hope so! I NEVER get to go out. My husband works so much that, after my 5-hour work week, I am the one home with my two sons. I will never complain about that BUT...I miss adult time like you would not believe! So I really do hope you had fun!!
Please keep in touch!

Welcome Aboard Jersey Mom!! You've taken the first step and have your goal in sight. Now it's time to make that dream come true!
You sound like you have a wonderful family. Being overweight tends to make you want to sit on the side-lines. Take it from someone who knows....you do not want to sit on the sidelines when it comes to your children. You need to be able to get down there and play your heart out with them. Have the energy to play ball with them, build snowmen, etc. It's important...not just for them, but for you. Years later, you want no regrets. Plus it helps keep you young and flexible.
Be sure to make "playing" part of your weight loss plan. The extra plus is it'll help you lose weight and you'll be making memories to last a lifetime!!

Hi there!
I DO have a wonderful family. I worship my two sons (probably a little TOO much!!). They are my life. And I always play with them. That is the one thing that I never lost sight of. One would think the Daddy should be the "human jungle gym"...well, not in my house! I am the one that kids crawl over and I am the one who flips them around and dances with them. Were it not for that, I would probably be up to 250 lbs!!
So I agree...playing should always be a part of life...weight loss or not! :)
Thanks for the welcome!
