Fruit and Weight loss

Jazz up your breakfast by tossing a handful of berries on cold cereal or adding sliced peaches to oatmeal. Feast away on apple slices throughout the day, and you'll be less tempted to hit up the vending machine to satisfy your sweet tooth. If you usually eat chips with your lunchtime sandwich, try eating grapefruit instead. Peel and section a grapefruit in the morning before you go to work, and toss it in a plastic zipper bag. When eating at fast-food chains, order a fruit cup instead of fries. Many restaurants serve fruit dishes with a tasty indulgence—like a sugar cookie, a scoop of sorbet or a selection of cheeses—on the side.
The benefits of fruit is that it has zero cholesterol, serves as a good source of heart-healthy fiber and contains phytochemicals that reduce blood pressure and the risk of cancer and type 2 diabetes—boosting your fruit intake may also help you lose weight. Add strawberries and grapefruit and watermelon to your diet, and watch the scale inch to the left.

Yea... as good as this may sound, fruits have too many sugars.  Some of us, especially for people with RH, starting day with sugars (even natural) may start a cycle of high and low blood sugars. And hunger.

If I eat fruits – I only try to eat them in the afternoon, when my sugar is getting low, and always pair them with proteins and fat.

Post op RNY – some of us make too much insulin for the amount of sugar-carbs that our body is getting due to rerouted small intestines.  Too much insulin  in the body promotes weight gain and stopped fat burning.

many sugars. So I need to st

Always eat with a protein or complex carb and this will prevent any rise in the blood sugars.

Take care,

yea... I wish... For me some fruits will cause BS drop no matter what.   a really small bite (bite on an apple, 3-5 grapes, 1/8 -1/4 of banana if eaten with proteins and fat, no problem, but even 1/2 banana, or more that a few grapes, and my BS can drop really low... With some foods - my body does not care what I ate that with.   Sugar is sugar...
