Thank you for admittance into this group.

I am 8 months out from Roux-en-Y, have done well (lost 75 pounds), but can feel myself slipping.

It's those damn pretzels.  Every day, I tell myself no, but then end up eating one or two pretzel sticks.

Looking for ways to stop before I start sliding.

Hi!

It´s good you star****ching when you´re slipping early. I went on for quite a bit and did a lot of damage.

First off, figure out wether your pretzel cravings come from a carb addiction. In my case, I crave breads, pastas and anything sugary. And after years and years of trying to include them in small portions in my diet, only to find myself thinking of nothing but eating MORE carbs, I realized that I had to cut them out cold turkey. When I did, the cravings banished. As long as I stay on a low carb regimen, i have absolutely no cravings. sure, I´ll eye the piece of pie, but not fall into temptation.

So maybe that´s something you want to investigate? If you do have a carb addiction, run the other way when you see a pretzel!! Eat a big fatty piece of stea****il you´re so full you don´t even want the pretzel anymore. I´d rather over eat protein and fat then let in the carbs and awaken the addiction. Of course another option is doing excercise when a craving hits, but I´ve never actually done that

good luck and welcome. I´d been away for a year, but I´m doing so poorly and gaining so much, I came back for some much needed focus and support.
