Almost 4 years out and still have not done good enough.. blood test.

I posted info about vitamins, water and proteins... yada yada yada....
And I do take my multi 99% of the time, calcium 90% of the time and other vits and minerals... not as much... maybe 80%?
Food wise - I thought I was doing good... but in retrospect, I have been taking less protein supplements, and more "less than perfect" forms of proteins - food.   I still thought I was doing good... Since all my meals had proteins.

But my blood work proved me otherwise.  I am under hematologist care (needed iron infusions) and had to be retested.
Even though my ferritin is good, my RBC count is low (by app 10-20%),
and my proteins are low 6.5 (I need to be over 7 to be optimum)

I guess taking antacid meds limits how much proteins I can digest and absorb from real foods. And getting PB for breakfast.. or peanuts... will have to change.

Back to the freaking planning to make sure I get enough proteins every day. And other stuff...

One day at a time.

It took me five years to finally get a good lab report.  Next year will probably be off again.  Only time will tell.

My last year proteins were good, but my iron and B12 sucked...
Now my ferritin is good, but there may be otehr issues... my doc mentioned copper - need to test that now...
And my proteins dropped from 7.4 to 6.5....
Back to the shakes...

It's hard to get enough high protein foods in each day.  The only thing that seems to work for me is to drink Protein Shakes.     It's a balancing act but your headed in the right direction.

I think this is one of the biggest challenges we face. I have B issues and do the best I can.

Let me know if I can help with suggestions on getting protein in.

Take care,
Kathy

Thanks Kathy. I know what I need to do... now I just need to do them again... and again... and again...

That's why it is so important to get lab work done.   6 months ago - my protein number was 7.4...
last week... 6.5  Not critical... but low enough for me to worry and take actions.
I am back to drinking 2 large protein shakes a day. plus food.
