Back On Track Together
Can I join??
I went to the chat room and no one was home!!!
I started getting back on track on January 1. I had my surgery in October 2003, so I am an OLDIE!!
I got down to 137 within 10 months of my surgery, but that only lasted a day! My body decided that it liked 147, so that number is fine with me..............except that I now weigh 187!! Well, the scales this morning said 184, but I am not counting weight loss but once a week.
How did I gain? Well, my DH had a stroke 4 years ago, so our life changed. He's fine now. No physical limitations - he has cognitive issues - aphasia, word salad, but he's still much much better than he was. I just tend to finish his sentences for him, because I know what he WANTS to say....but anyway, it kinda turned me into a couch potato. And with that, comes snacking....I dumped early on after surgery, but then I could pretty much eat anything I want - just not a lot.
I havent had a Diet Sunkist in FOUR days, which is a miracle for me. I am measuring my food again, and the biggie????? DO NOT DRINK WHEN EATING!!!
I can tell my pouch is still good. A cup of chili, and I am full!! 4 ounces of tuna and a pack of crackers, and I full!!
I have kept my days worth of meals under 1400 calories, and trying to get my protein up to 100 grams per day and carbs below 100 grams per day.
So, I am trying......10 pounds at a time.......I just have to get this exercise in, but its cold and am a hermit....once the daylight starts staying a little longer, my fat dog is going walking!!!

Oh, its been a GOOD week! WHY didnt I do this sooner?????
I am using LoseIt on my iPhone to keep up - my calorie allotment has been 1358 a day and I have been UNDER for an entire week!! And with it being dark outside when I come home, and only being able to walk the dogs last Sunday, I didnt get much exercise. We bowl on Monday and believe it or not according to LoseIt, THAT is exercise! But I underestimate it, so I probably have done really good.
And with apologies to those of ya'll in cold weather areas, my DH and I just spent 2 hours working around our pool and yard weedeating and cleaning.....in shorts! Then we sat around outside, saying ITS JANUARY..............
Oh, and my scales say I am down 4 pounds, but its not official until I weigh tommorrow. I promised myself to record weight only once a week, where I used to do it everyday...........
I am so glad I found this forum. I had been going to graduates, but I need to be here more.
And on a side note, my DH just handed me the mail...........I now qualify for the SENIOR RATE for Southern Living magazine!!! Boy, that just blew me out of the water!!
