Anyone wanna dance?

I've tried varioius workouts throughout the years and the only one that really appealed to me was dancing to whatever Richard Simmons jiggled his tush to.  After I gave birth, my back is pretty wacked out and things like Billie's Boot Camp just kills me (Hubby and I tried it and it took us a day to recover from his warm-up alone)...

I was thinking Zumba...

Anyone try it?  It looks like it could be a lot of fun...just give me opinions =c) Any and all are welcome.

I did it a few years ago.  It was a lot of fun.  The music was fantastic.  The dance moves were tricky enough that you had to concentrate to get them right. You can do it at varying intensities depending on your energy level on that particular day.  People of all ages were in the class.  Even a few old men were in the back of the class, but I think they were watching the girls  !  I think you will have to try a class to see if you like it.

My daughter loves it.  I tried it on the Wii but my rear couldn't keep up with the beat.  I ended up just jumping around and shaking things up.

I loved my Zumba class.  Instructor was great and made sure to give options for all impact levels.  Unfortunately I had to stop going due to scheduling issues but I just got the game version for my xbox for Christmas so hoping I can get some in at home.

I just started a line dance class last night.  the music was good and it was fun plus we worked up a sweat.  I hate to exercise so breaking my gym days up is a good thing for me.  good luck and victory to you!

OMG I love Zumba!!!!  Check with a local Y and see if you can attend a class or two.  It's so much fun. I have not done this via DVD but I am sure it's fun also.

Thank you!  I'll look into the Wii version of Zumba...right now the WII is only used to get netflix for the baby.

I also love the Richard Simmons workouts.  The music keeps me going.  I just ordered the original version of Zumba and am waiting for it to arrive.  There are only a few classes offered near me and they fall on days or times that I can't go, so I'm going to give the videos a try.

I met a 60 year old fireman / construction worker last year that had lost 35 lbs in a short time doing Zumba.  He didn't look like the type that would be doing zumba exercise but he said he loved it!

Better than nothing...crank up the radio and dance to your hearts desire!  The goal is movement!
