Back On Track Together
Thank you!
I had the lapband at 350lbs in 2008...it herniated my stomach and it was either a sleeve or a colostomy bag and at 32, I chose the sleeve (of course!). Between the healing time to get the sleeve, I went from 160 to 248. Within 7 months, I was down to 180 and a miracle happened. The one thing my doctors had always told me wasn't possible became fact. I was pregnant. I went from 180-225 and then within a week of giving birth to a very healthy baby girl, I was down to 188 and ready to go back to my routine. I've always eaten whatever I wanted, I just used portion control (1/2 cup to 1 cup of whatever) and I lost the weight slowly but well...slowly...but it was happening. After giving birth, I've gone from 188 to 209 and my body is no longer cooperating with my previous plan of whatever I want, limited portions. I get the Back On Track newsletters and I glance at them...and never paid much attention. I've scoured this site...I go to my surgery forum...to the pregnancy forum to the failed weight loss forum and none of the people there were at my stage (I have NOT failed...I've just fallen off the lifestyle change wagon).
So...thank you. For being here and posting on this forum. I keep saying, "I need to get back on track"...and voila, you were here the whole time right in my inbox and I never thought twice of you guys.

Nature does her best to teach us. The more we overeat, the harder she makes it for us to get close to the table.
Sounds like it's Your Time To Shine! The timing is perfect. A New Year, A New You!! I also have apx 92# to lose, which can be a bit overwhelming when looking at the whole picture. But my hubby continues to remind me that the only way to eat an Elephant, is one bite at a time! You can't succeed unless you start, so come join us....It's going to be a Great Adventure!
I really think it is about replacing old habits with new healthy habits and sticking to the plan as often as possible. Quickly forgiving mistakes is also necessary. Cheating a little is not a problem until we feel guilt and then continue on. You have kept off 141 lbs. That is wonderful and you should be proud of that accomplishment. It sounds like your sleeve is still working and you just have to fine tune your food choices. That seems to me to be reasonable and you will reach your goal. By the way congratulations on your baby girl...what a blessing for you.
