Back On Track Together
Thanksgiving, how did you do?
I hope your holiday was a fabulous one. How did you do? Was it a good eating day but you still enjoyed the day. Or did you fall off the wagon?
Me? I not only feel off the wagon I let it roll over me. I had several days of severe stress and let my old habits take over and just ate like a pig for days. Sigh..... Need to regroup and get back on track again.
So how did you do? Come share!
Take care,
Kathy

We also had another dinner last night at my house with just my kids and I did good with my choices and did not make any desserts so none of would be tempted to eat them.
I did.....ok-ish. My downfalls were I had a few too many bites of stuffing, when I should have avoided it altogether and I indulged in a slice of apple pie. I was prepared to be happy and satisfied with a small slice of sugar-free pumpkin pie but the devil on my shoulder stifled the angel on my other shoulder!
Today I am back to work after 4 days off...so it's another opportunity for better choices to begin again. I loved the time with my parents and my kids...that was the real gift of my Thanksgiving so I have nothing to regret. Just ready to get back on the wagon so it won't roll repeatedly over the top of me throughout the holiday season.
I am grateful to have BOTT to come back to. Thank you BOTT friends.
God Bless you.

I planned for this though. And I'm finding it really is key. When I "wing it", I fall. So, I decided in advance what I'd eat, and how much, and when throughout the day. And I stuck rigidly to my plan. I avoided the food tables, etc and stuck with visiting in the other room! I was lucky enough to be hosting Thanksgiving so I was able to plan with both carb eaters and low carbers in mind. If I'd gone elsewhere I just would have brought stuff I knew was ok for me to have too.
I had an appetizer lunch earlier in the day - veggie sticks and a few cheese/meats, and also made some roasted chick peas so I had some of those as well. For dinner I had turkey and stuffing, which I made low carb (I used roasted cauliflower cubes in place of the bread, and then made the rest as usual - and a few other people who aren't low carbers had it and enjoyed it too! But I did make regular as well, to avoid an angry mob lol). And later I had a piece of low carb/ sugar free pumpkin cheesecake. I stuck with water, tea and coffee and avoided the soda.
The rest of the day my focus was on friends and family, and I stayed in close contact with my best friend who is also on this journey with me, and we supported one another through the day. It was a good feeling. And I'm going to repeat it at Christmas!
PS Down 25 pounds in two months, and last night my husband PICKED ME UP, threw me over his shoulder and swung me around, then put me down and said, "Hey, you weigh less than on our wedding day, huh?!" Wow, that's a great feeling.
