Back On Track Together
The prodigal returns
I am returned. Vanished for awhile because my Mother-in-law came to visit. She's 87, has ten kids, five of which live up here; lots of grandkids and great-grandkids. Needless to say, we were running everywhere every day so everybody could get some time with her. One son was recovering from a stroke, a daughter is in a nursing home. My three adult children wanted their turns with grandma, and my three great-grandkids to boot. Family upon family visits! We were having a great time too, everybody wanted to feed us. I did my best, but what with the taking to dinner and skipped trips to the Y, I expected I was ballooning up big time. Visit was suddenly cut short when word came from Florida, where she lives, that a son in law was in hospital with a very serious cardiac condition (we're talking heart transplant territory), so she has flown back there. Even though she's healthy and able to run circles around me, time is precious, and I was glad I got to spend so much of it with her.
SO I got back on the scale and find I'm two pounds down. Hmm - I suspect that'smuscle loss and not actual weight loss. Or it could also be due to all the activity keeping me from snacking on the wrong stuff. But my efforts to choose wisely during all that eating have been proved to work. That's a good thing! Anyway, I'm back to routine now, back to my swims and ready to get back on track.
And not sure I can face the upcoming holidays withou support!
