Back On Track Together
Thanksgiving Plans
Hi Everybody.
It is exactly one week from today that we will be facing our greatest foe....Thanksgiving Dinner. Have you thought about how you are going to approach this meal? Do you plan ahead what you are going to allow yourself to eat? Or, do you just go with the flow? To me this day starts the downslide for the next month of free eating. If you are like me, without plans most time, I wake up in the new year 10 lbs. heavier. This year I plan to be prepare on what I can eat and what I need to say No Thanks to. What are your plans to handling this holiday season.

You bring up a great topic! I plan to eat Turkey and green beans- my treat will be a spoon of stuffing...
The only pie I like is pumpkin- but instead of eating pie this year, I tried a new recipe from Unjury's website yesterday that will to the trick. Unjury Vanilla mix prepared w/ skim milk, mix SF vanilla pudding, canned pure pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. Delicious!!
Have a great day-

Have a great day-
We go to my mother-in-laws every year. She does the turkey, we all bring the rest. Will do like past years, stick with turkey, green beans, sweet potatoes w/apples, and a little bit of mashed potatoes.
My sister-in-law kind of ruined pumpkin pie for me a few years ago, she forgot to put sugar in it, YUCK! I have never been much of a dessert or sweets person, my downfall is definitely the comfort food.

For me it is easy... can't have most Thanksgiving carbs anyway so it will be proteins (turkey, ham) and green beans and other veggies. It is only one day... so really not a bid deal...
Then going away for the weekend - and I plan to walk a lot and have fun.

well for me its just my husband and I, so i will get him desert (pecan Pie) i dont like it, and i will eat Prime Rib and Tur-duc-hen, (wanted to try it) maybe a table spoon or two of mashed potatoes and creamed spinach... I may have 1/4 of a roll or not, but im not giving into food this holiday season i did that last year and that was the start of my slide and ended with me gaining 25 lbs ... It will not be a "day of eating" or turn into "a couple of months of eating" it will be a meal and then back on track...

Thanksgiving is usually a big production at my house. We have twelve folks coming this year. I always do great with the meat and vegetables, I can stare the parker house rolls down but the desserts really get my sweet tooth worked up. I already know that we are having a double orange bundt cake, red velvet cheesecake (my fav) and bananas pudding. I ask for special prayers from you that day to get me through the sugar load. My goal is to either have one bite of each dessert or half a piece of one. This will be my splurge. I hope we all enjoy the day and can get all the calories off the next day during black Friday shopping.
Hi Tess,
It's going to be different this year for sure. I have always fixed Thanksgiving dinner for over 30 years. With the marriage of my son in September we will be traveling west and sharing the holidays with our new family. I don't have a clue what the eat or serve. So I plan on exercising/moving as much as I can....
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Take care,
Kathy
