Nighttime munchies--any thoughts?
Hi Ladies
So lately I have the urge to eat at night. During the day I can keep busy and drink fluids and that usually takes my mind off food and my hunger.
Any one else having this problem--if so what works? Sometimes I am genuinely hungry and other times I just have a primal, overwheming need to chew. (Ive tried gum)
I drink my fluids and get my protein. Any thoughts?

Sometimes the overwheming feelings do seem to control the moment. My go to snacks are all low calorie and high protein. I have protein cereal and protein chips for crunchy moments and protein bars and pudding for sweet. Sometimes a slim Jim does the trick or a piece of fruit. Mainly, be prepared with good choices when the munchies attack.
Ughhh, I struggle with this all the time! I can be super fantastic during the day but in the evenings I need to tape my mouth shut!
I have read that one way is to brush your teeth to get rid of the munchies, though I haven't tried it. How about having pre-prepared planned snacks ready? Or some low cal soup?
I'll be interested to read others suggestions - I need to take some of my own and others advice

Teeth brushing...that's one I haven't heard before...I pulled thru tonight with microwave popcorn diet juice and low cal cocoa. Course it helped tht the leftovers I was planning to eat for dinner went bad lol. What a relief. I hope I've hit a turning point b/c I redid my math and my regain is closer to 15-20lbs yipers!
Honestly there is something about the munchies that engages a real basic instinct to chew...I noticed this when I was in my liquid stage and starving after a few days. Liquid nourishment wasn't enough I HAD to chew something. It's like your whole nervous system is involved. (Am I alone here in thinking this?)
Also, you feel the need to bring your hand up to your mouth over an over again (guess this is why the popcorn came in handy tonight) Anyway, I hope I can repeat this little nsv

Depends on how my calorie count for the day has gone but I have been trying a cup of coffee (with a scoop of protein if really hungry), some plain popcorn, or sometimes 1/2 peanut butter sandwich with milk.
A lot of times it can be more mental hunger than physical hunger. I try to get myself involved in something to distract the mind.
