I'm new here

Hi there.  I'm so glad I found this site!  Looks like it's exactly what I'm looking for.

I had RNY almost 4 years ago.  My initial loss was 115 lbs, but sad to say in the past 1.5 years I've gained about 50 lbs.....I'm so disappointed in myself.  Between alcohol (working on that), carbs and lack of movement what did I really expect???

I've decided to jump back on the bandwagon and get it together.  I'm going to try to go back to the basics of my pre-op diet.  Vege soup, salads w/o all the fattening stuff and protein bars for at least the first month or so.  I will allow myself to go out to dinner w/ friends occasionally and enjoy (in moderation) the upcoming holidays.  I KNOW that moderation is the key and that I should be on tract 90% of the time and I plan on doing just that, plus I'm changing my work schedule so that I can get a workout in most mornings.

Anyways, just thought I'd introduce myself.

Hi... glad you join us...
A journey starts with one step...

I do try to make things work for me.
Alcohol was also a big factor in me gaining weight.  Now I do have a glass of wine once in a while. Maybe one time a week? and only one.  Finally I do have that under control.

I do follow mostly protein diet during that day and I do get more carbs at night.  i crave them mostly at night.... so I decided to reserve them for my evenings.

Good luck... we are all here... doing the same things... Maintenance is a *****

Welcome,  I am on the same boat with you.  We can do!  My main problem is eating out alot and trying hard not to drink after meals for 1 hr.

I make sure I drink allot before I eat so I don't get to thirsty after wards.  My hubby sets an alarm to remind himself when he can start drinking again, so he can stop thinking about it.
Maybe one of those suggestions would work for you.

Thanks for the welcome and good luck to us!

Hi Edie:

Welcome to BOTT.  This is a great place to find your beginning and start fresh.  Remember each day is a new beginning so don't let a bad ruin a week, just start again the next day.  Eventually you will have more good days than bad.  Glad to see you here.

Edie,

Welcome!  You are certainly not alone... I am 8 yrs. post op and came 25 lbs shy of goal.  Then, added 10 lbs this last year

I started back on track about a week and half ago and with the help of the other BOTTers, managed to drop 6 lbs.  We can do this!  Come to the board often- its amazing what you can learn.

One day at a time!!!
