Daily Water Requirements
I thought I'd share what I think is the best way to determine how much water we need to drink each day.
Divide your current weight in half, and that is the amount in ounces you need to drink each day. So if you weigh 200 pounds you need to drink 100 ounces per day.
AND for every minute of aerobic activity over 15 minutes, you need to drink 1 ounce for every minute in addition to your daily requirement. If your aerobic activity is 15 minutes or less this doesn't apply. So if I'm on the treadmill for 30 minutes I need to consume 30 ounces while I'm on it, or right after. When I do a 60 minute spin class, I drink my 32 oz. bottle during class and then refill it right after.
There has been ALOT of talk about caffinated beverages. Now they are saying they can count 100% towards your daily total, but I think it's still a good idea to only count them as half towards your daily total.
