Good lie to your kids...

Thought anyone with kids might appreciate this.

I was CRAVING... some of my favorite MAC-N-CHEESE. Esp'lly cheeseburger Hamburger Helper.

Now that I (wait for it... ) READ LABELS... hee hee, I thought.. hmm I can still have it but its how its prepared.

On the box, it says prepared 310calories. BUT as boxed 100calories. I started thinking U know its the milk and oil/butter meat we add that piles on the calories.

Ok so I started doing my detective work and found some faux-ground beef. LOL (U like that?)

SMART GROUND... 70 calories, 6 carbs, protein 11, salt 320(oooouch) per serving.

So when home, cooked the macaronis as I normally would... in the microwave, added 1/2 (if that) of olive so it wont stick....

after 3-5mins, let the noodles sit for 1mins, stir... then back in until desired tenderness.

used 1/4 portion of noodles, 1/6 portion of the faux beef.... added A SPRINKLING of the flavor packet and stir.

HOT DAMN...  it tasted so good, my friends son came in (10yrs) saw the box, and then BEGGED for some Hamburger Helper.

I said ok, made him the exact same combo... we both had garden salad w/TINY bit of greek dressing(I forgot to mention).

He WOOF'D it down...

Kept asking him, is it as good as mom makes... he actually said BETTER! I said him why?

He said QUICKER!!

Lol... ta-da!!!  Thank U, Thank U very much...

So U get the taste of the hamburger helper with MUCH LESS than the 20gm of fat they post. Ill 'pad' my dinner and say my dinner was 200calories. I always round up. To avioid me to keep eating.

Now I have so much of the flavor packet left, I can have it with another pasta, and my faux -meat. LOL
