HELP!!!
Hey Everybody!
I need help! I just started working at a new location this week...I just this minute found out that they bring in "warm" Krispy Kreme, melt-in-your-mouth doughnuts on Friday!! Akkk!! ...Wouldn't you know that my cubicle is located right beside the coffee pot and so I now have "3" boxes of doughnuts right beside me. I am the world's biggest sugar addict! If it were possible, I would live solely on sugar!! Ok...I'm gonna resist this...I can do it! I can do it! I can do it! Gotta take a walk and get away from them!
Thanks! It helps to at least share with the group.
Donna :)
And I do somtimes have a piece of donut of cookie. I'm no saint! Luckily, Donuts make me dump in the worst way, so little pieces are pretty much my limit.
Came back to add that I'm not a big sweets fan (salt and fat here) person, and I realize that sugar alcohols might not be good for a sweettooth. Maybe a small photo on hand to remind you why you're saying no?
Put as a wallpaper on your computer something that will motivate you. Like a photo of you at goal or an outfit you are aiming for. So for everytime you smell those donuts you can look at your motivation.
Also, try bringing in an alternative. A bowl of apples or bananas. You may be surprised the number of people in your office that will join you in a healthy snack.
Lastly, keep some snacks in your desk, like string cheese, apples and almond butter, cubes grilled chicken. Eat small bites and make it last.
Take care,
Kathy

Thanks everyone for coming to my aid!! I'm definitely going to take the advice and put it to good use! I have to say that I was "totally" caught off guard and unprepared. I've been so focused on the job itself that I hadn't taken the time to "look out for Donna". That's been one of my issues...I'm the caretaker for my mother and so I tend to push Donna to the background (which is why I've gained some of my weight back). I'm in the process of re-prioritizing things now and getting Donna back to the top of the list...I've definitely learned my lesson after today's episode! :)
You're too funny, Kathy!
Thanks again to everyone for being so awesome and supportive!
Have a great weekend!
Donna :)
I did what you did and put all my energy and time into my husband and yes the stress eating found me again. I thought I had given it a bogus address but stress eating found me via my iphone tracker
Now I am trying also to get back to me. Hang in there you are doing great!

My problem has been once I mess up I give up. So I am working on one choice at a time. I choose each minute, in each issue what I will do. This disrupts the thought of I will try again tomorrow. I begin again as quickly as I caught myself. Starting over can be anything. I also give myself permission to be human and don't expect perfection. Then I have less to nag myself about.
Learning to love myself with all my flaws makes moving forward with my life possible.
