Tuesday Dumpster Diving

I really only think about dumping when I'm in the throws of it. Kathy, that's a great idea...to actually think about how bad it makes us feel physically (and emotionally!!) when we eat "crap" and how great it feels to eat healthily (is that a word?) and satisfy our body with the fuel it needs. : ) Thank you!

When I'm out shopping, and something really bad catches my eye, I recite over and over - "that will make me so sick" until I can pass it by.  Some things get "that will kill me".   I've conditioned myself to see the "naughty" item and associate it with the misery a a bad dump. Doesn't always overcome the urge, but it really does work most of the time.

Yes, I have often said it out loud, and gotten the ocassional stink eye from other shoppers. Who cares?

It's too bad we can't be fitted with a chip that will give us a good ole jolt whenever our hand gets too close to the danger.

 Glad you all posted here. I have felt very cranky and tired today....I'm now thinking it's all part of my junk "withdrawal".  I will keep telling myself that it will get better, I will feel better.....

Someone told me once if I am craving KFC to picture me holding a chicken leg in my hands and visualize the fat turning to solid ugly yellow fat dripping slowly down my arm. Some how that always turns me off.

Another visual that helps me, what ever I am craving, visualize it in a jar full of wet, stinky cigarette butts....  GAG

Well, day1 of the challenge I sucked at.  I ate my popcorn without measuring it and loaded with oil and salt.  Granted my overall calories and protein were not that bad but this is not what I should do......  I need some suggestions from the group for substitutions for popcorn.
Today was much better..I actually didn't get hungry all day until 2pm.  I was getting all my water in and 2 cups of coffee...I made my first visit to the gym in weeks and did a short workout.....Tomorrow is a new day and I plan to keep track of my food, water and exercise again.....   Just got to learn how to avoid those salty snacks(carbs) that I like.  I can do this...Thank-you BOTT friends for your help and support....Bea

i did better tuesday than i did monday. starting tracking on fitday - dang those calories add up quickly. made it thru half the day watching what i ate and drank. then - two oclock hit and all bets were off. pretty sure i was bored. today, i intend to exercise. it's supposed to be beautiful outside. yeah. and i'm gonna try, again, to steer clear of suger.
