Back On Track Together
Hello!
My name is Stephanie and I am almost 9 years post op rny. I lost 140 pounds and was able to keep it off until I had to start taking steroids. Then I put on 90 pounds in six months. I have managed to lose about 60 of those 90. I had a revision last year due to some complications and was able to restart my weight loss. I would like to lose the last 30! My weight loss has come to a halt.
Looking for any advice and encouragement!
Thanks,
Stephanie E

Hey Stephanie!
You already seem to be doing quite well with your weight loss. Each person has their own journey. For me, I am a work in progress. I had reached my doctor's goal of 135 and then reached my personal goal of 128. My doctore did not like the 128 because of my age and health issues. I have decided that if I can just maintain somewhere in the middle I will be happy. I am working on losing my re-gain from tooooo many white carbs. (Lesson learned the hard way!) I am taking it one day at a time. I have found that since I have introduced more fiber in my diet that I am doing better and don't feel as deprived. I am using the Somersize diet plan. It gives me more flexibility and is close to what I need to be doing. I have also added in more movement to my day. Note I did not say exercise since I hate to exercise. But more movement each day I can handle.
That is what is working for me. You just need to find what works best for your body and what you can maintain as a lifestyle. Take it one day at a time. We are here to help any way we can.
Blessings.....Dee

Hi Stephanie. I had a friend beat uterine cancer. She had to be on steroids for a long time. She blew up into a huge woman. While I'm sure you haven't, I can't imagine trying to lose weight while on steroids but if anybody can do it, I know you can! I'm eating mostly protien and veggies now. Carbs are definitely my downfall. Good luck to you.
