Your regimen?

Just curious- what are all of your execise regimens? I have a gym where I live and I need to get back into a work out routine. Last time I was going to the gym I would go 5 days a week for 1 hours and I would do Elliptical, Recumbent bike and Treadmill. Sometimes I would split them up in an hour, so do 20min on each depending on how I felt that day. Unfortunately I wasn't eating very healthy so didn't see any decrease in the scale, but I didn't gain. Just wanted to see what has worked well for all of you!

Hi Julia
I have completed sprint triathlons, 5Ks and bike-a-thons.  With my weight gain and injuries now I go to the gym 6 days a week and do 1/6th a sprint triathlon each visit.  Also I have hypoglycemia if I exercise too long without eating.  So my workout is very simple compared to most.  In order to lose weight though I have to count calories and carbs closely.  If I don't, I eat too much healthy food and gain weight.

1.   on a stationary bike I ride 2 miles in 8 minutes
2.  I walk on a rubber track 1/2 mile in another 8 minutes
3.  then I go to the pool and swim 6 lengths

I need to do crunches or yoga stretching for my abs but I rarely do.  That is what I could improve.  Cleaning my house and weeding the garden use more calories than my workout.

Just me

Wow! I didn't think it would be possible to eat too much healthy food and gain weight! lol

During the nice months I run and walk outside 3-5 times a week. I try to hit some classes such as yoga or pilates for cross training. In the winter I run on the treadmill 3 times a week and go to spinning class 1-2 times a week. I really like zumba as well but do not get an opportunity to go too much. During the school year my daughter takes 3-5 dance classes a week at the YMCA so I have plenty of opportunities to work out. In the summer it is harder to motivate myself to get to the Y. I have a few running buddies that keep me motivated.
I have comcast and use the exercise on demand at times; should do it more often! The Jillian Michaels ones are brutal but great.
I need to add weight training, I just do not want to do it. I have osteopenia and it is ridiculous that I do not do more weight bearing type of exercise, I really need to work on that this Fall once I am inside for the seasons again.

I've just made a committment to myself to get back to exercising. I recently moved to an area where the humidity is absolutely brutal, and simply can't get out of the house. I'm not acclimating easily!! I think I'm going to have to find a local gym to get back into it.

I used a gym in NV where I did strength training 3X weekly, and it really helped. Here in FL I don't even want to go outside in the early am. I had even purchased a recumbent exerciser on Craigslist and can't make myself use it. Blah.

OK, here's my plan:

Track on Sparkpeople.com (Done!)

Recommitt to my eating plan. NO MORE REFINED and SUGARY CARBS!!

Rededicate myself to my goal of good health.

Thanks for all the encouragement I've found on this site.
