How to "quit" a bad habit

I read the other day that when we try to quit a bad habit it is extremely difficult.  It was suggested that we begin a new good habit and just let the old bad one fad away.  This sounded like good advice to me and I thought I'd share the idea.  I haven't decided what bad habit I am going to replace yet though.  I am thinking about eating at the table rather than in from of the TV which everyone says is bad for weight control.  Maybe I will only drink my water while watching TV.  If I am really, really hungry I can go eat in the diningroom.  People say we appreciate our food more when we concentrate on it.  Just me
