New and way off track

I have really strayed from the WLS rules and have regained 80lbs. I'm very dissapointed in myself and could really use a  close buddy to help keep me motivated and on track. I am now disabled because of some complications from a few surgeries but I know my pouch still works. It tells me so now and again.

So if you have any advice on how to get started back on track and kick the carb monster out of my house I would be forever greatful.

God Bless,
Michaelle H.

Hi Michaelle

You are not alone.  This wonderful group of supportive people are fighting together to get BOT.  You could try logging your food plan for the day with Deb's cafe and cardio.  You could join the exercise challenge with Hala.  Molly has inspirational posts as well.  Then there is the humor from "idida..".  Then there are literally hundreds of us that post once in a while but read frequently to try to get back to or to our goal weights.

I think the best way to get the carb monster out of your house is to literally get the carbs out of your house.  Food pantries are always looking for food so why not make your house a safe haven.  You will eat a lot less if you have to make a junk food run.

I think the first step is to recognize where you are and to start over.  I was watching Dr. Oz yesterday and he said your body recognizes health benefits as soon as you lose 1 lb.  so why not just start with us and be persistent and patient.

welcome, Just me

Hi Michaelle,
Welcome to BOTT!  Well, I hate to say this but you're not alone with the weight gain.  Those carbs can really get hold of us.  There is a post at the top of the forums by Cathy, she explains pretty well how to get back on track.  I, personally like to post my food plan daily under Cafe/Cardio.  I know what I'm going to eat for the day.  This way I don't go "shopping" in the fridge or cabinets.  Start by eating protein, stay away from "white foods, journal your food and exercise.  It really all goes back to the basics.  You can do this.  Put your mind to it, it's never too late!

Hi Michelle and Welcome....

Ditto to everything that justmealso and Deb said.  I've been away for awhile, gained some weight and working my butt off to get back on track.  You said you're disable but you can sit and work out, you'll be surprised at the change in your body and the way you feel.

Welcome aboard look forward to seeing your food journal & exercise journal we are all here to help each other.

Welcome Michele!  My Mom is limited in what she can do also.  But there are many things you can do despite being disabled.  Not sure what your limitations are but look into sittng exercises.  They are great!  I did them myself when I weighed 600 pounds.

Welcome to BOTT!!
