Back On Track Together

Hello!

Hello everyone!  I just wanted to introduce myself as I am new here.

My name is Heather and I had a LAP-RNY June of 2002.  I started at out at 326 lbs and at my lowest weighed in at 172.  I got preggo with my baby boy is 2004/05 and gained up to 198.  I lost it shortly after the pregnancy, but somehow it began to creep back on over the years.  In 2009 I was up to 210 and went to a weight management clinic where I lost back down to 185.  Shortly after that I got a new job and moved back to Alaska from Florida.  Where I have subsequently put back on about 25 lbs.  I am now back at 210.  I am so frustrated.  I know what i need to do and I know how to do it, why can't I?  Honestly, I am very happy with the weight I lost.  I am healthier and more active.  However, I can't get away from the size I wear and the little spare tire around the middle.  At 6' tall, I am not "fat" but I am definitely overweight and I cannot stand it.  I know I need to get off my butt more and exercise so a few of the girls at work and me have started a lunchtime walking group just to get out and exercise.  I am also playing softball two nights a week.  I have begun eating only protein and salads again and hopefully with the support (and accountability) to this group I can drop the 25 lbs with no problem!

Thanks for reading and I look forward to participating with y'all.

Hi Heather,
Welcome to BOTT!  Well, you're not what I'm going to say, but it's all about going back to basics.  Cathy has information on getting BOTT at the top of the forum.  We've all been up and down, and we know what you're going through.  Here's a few things to remember:  Protein, protein, protein, no "white" foods, no drinking with meals, and finally...exercising. I find that if I journal out my food for the day, it's easy to just grab what I need, without "shopping" through my fridge and cabinets.  Try to sign in everyday and let us know how you're doing.  You CAN do this!

Hi Heather

Welcome to BOTT.  A baby and a move and a new job!  congratulations!

this winter was very difficult for me because I didn't take a warm climate vacation because I had face surgery.  I live in Wisconsin where our days get very "short".   Next winter I am heading south at least once.

So you are used to sunny Florida and now live in Alask with really really short days in the winter.  On top of that you had 3 major life changes.  I think you are lucky to have only gained 25 lbs.  With the exercise you do and eating healthier you will relose the weight in no time.

I hope you too can find a way to take a winter vacation in the south next year.  It will give you something to look forward to and give you something to motivate you.  The money we save on extra food will pay for a vacation.

That may be a new challenge with long term goals.

Welcome

Just me

Welcome to BOTT Heather!

You know exercise is key to keeping weight.  Good job for getting back on track!!  You can do it.  I can't say it will be easy but it is definitely within your reach!!

Do you keep track of you food anywhere on line?  I use myfitnesspal.com to log calories and exercise.

Hey ladies!  Thank you for the welcome and the positive vibes.  I am going to try journaling my food and exercise as y'all suggested.  I believe this will really help me out.  I will keep checking in with y'all to get inspiration and kicks in the butt when I need them!
