Met some new people
My cat is happy and healthy
Learnt that i can't drink any alcohol.  None... not fun...

I feel like I should have done better.  I am really getting discouraged with the amount of food I can eat and not feel anything.  I eat veggies to get by with fewer calories.  Is it possible for me to not be obese?  I did better before the surgery...25 lbs. better.  I wonder if they can reverse a RNY because of weight gain?  I should have exercised more.  I did lose 2 lbs. but still weigh more than I did when I joined BOTT.  I got to the family doctor and had blood work drawn...lipids, thyroid, A1C.  All were good.  They don't draw RNY labs anymore because my levels are always high or normal because of the short bypass.  I guess that is good.  I got to the dietitian and she is trying to help me lose weight.  I went to several support group meetings but didn't feel like I got much support.  People really don't understand when a surgery fails they just think the patient fails.  I switched to my fitness pal for logging my food because I simply can't eat as little volume of food as others and it just makes me feel badly.  I have never had any limitations from the surgery...it is what it is though.

Next month:

1. Lose 4 more lbs.  by eating 1600 calories a day.
2. Get to the gym 5 days a week
3. Take white kidney bean extract (blocks starch absorption)...maybe that will help.

I can hear you... I know it is disappointing...

I do get good restriction when I eat beef.  But only with beef. Anything else - not so much.

I gained some weight instead of losing... but... still can fit comfortable in my size 8 (some 6 are really tight) clothes. And my Reactive hypoglycemia is much better.  I also can eat more fruits before my body start rejecting that.  And my skin is improving... so ...Maybe I need to be 20 lbs heavier than my lowest weight ? and size 8?  not sure.

Hi Hala- Although I only lost a couple of pounds after surgery, at least I didn't gain back all the weight I lost before I had surgery.  The other day I totally lost it!  I ate 3 hard boiled eggs, 2 protein bars, 2 slices of full fat cheese and 2 pieces of toast.  That was 1100 calories in a couple minutes.  I still never felt any restriction or fullness.  I usually am able to eat and then get busy so that I stop eating but I turned into an eating machine.  Those are the times that I would appreciate any restriction.  That is why I don't keep any junk in the house.  I have 5 friends that had more invasive RNYs and they would have not been able to eat nearly that amount.  They would have been very ill if they did.  I also find that fruits and vegetables help me eat fewer calores.  My A1Cs have been great since the RNY and I am really grateful for that.  Hopefully I will take off a couple more pounds this month.  I was a 14 going into surgery and I remain a size 14.  I have never worn a size 8...I went from a size 4T to a size 14!   Just me
