Hello again Suzanne,

I recommend printing the printout that BOTT has on here.  It is at the top of the discussion boards.  Like one of the other posters said it is about getting back to protien 1st and basics.  There are a lost resources out here now for all WLS patients and many are free.

You have taken the 1st step today.  My 3 P's is Presevering, Patience and Postive.  If you remember these you will be served well and will get back on track.

You have to believe you can do it and not expect perfection from yourself.

To get additional support I recommend finding a local support group for post ops in your area.  I also recommend telephone support groups given by BCSI for free.

KIT,
Molly

Here is the information for Telephone support groups.  The next onw is the 3rd Thursday of the month.  If you go to their website and sign up for the free newsletter they will remind you on the day of.  They also have an awesome back on track program which is reasonably price and well worth it if you have the funds.  It is a good investment in Suzanne.

There are other BOT programs out there but I feel theirs is the most comprehensive one out there. That is why it cost more than the other ones.

Hi Suzanne...don't give up. Your pouch is still there, but you wont feel it working till you go back to the basics when you were newly post-op. My surgery was in 2003- never got to goal.Started at 285, and the most I got down to was 200. I ignored my pouch, ignored all the rules abou****er, protein, not drinking while or after eating, limit or completely do away with carbs, exercise etc...you know the routine. But after just going back and adopting all those rules again, Ifound that my pouch still works, and it has given me hope that I can actually get to goal someday. Its not impossible. Maybe harder than in the begining, but you can do it. Go back to basics. No refined carbs. lots of water, but none while or after eating (I wait 1 1/2 hrs), protein first, then a bite or two of veggies (half-way cooked). You will eat less...and feel fuller. Oh- and start to exercise, because your body's metabolism will slow down to adjust for less calories...that is what mine is doing right now. So I have to committ to exercise, and hopefully that will help. Good luck!!!!
