How Much Exercise...

I'm a fan of the "Biggest Loser" and I watch week after week at the weight the contestants are losing.  I know on the ranch they work out for hours at a time. I know that I will probably never get the results that they get by working out in a weeks time, but how many hours a day or week should we be exercising?

Dreamgirl,
I know for myself, the best I've felt is when I worked out an hour of cardio 3-4 times a week. I always try to change it up each day, so I don't get bored. I use my Bodybugg to get a more accurate burn on my workouts.
Do what ever you feel comfortable with. Try to increase intensity very slightly each week. I have to admit, it can get addicting for me. When I'm on a roll, I workout 6-7 times a week.
Keep on BOTTing!
Deb
I love Biggest Loser, wish I could even come close to working out like them!

I am the same way Debbie.  I work out 6 to 7 days a week when I am feeling it......:-)  So far this month I have only missed one day working out.  Some days i do 25 to 35 min but most days I do over 45 min of cardio for sure.  I try to go to the gym 3 to 5 days a week.  With the bad winter we have had I have been averaging 1 to 2 days.  This week it is my goal to go at least 3 days since it is going to be so nice.

I too watch TBL.  I also watch the new show Heavy on A&E on Monday nights.  An awesome show and so much more realistic too!

Most WLS programs recommend 45 to 60 min of cardio 5 or more days a week.  If in the losing mode 60 min is always better.  But like you said one day at a time.  Same should be so for exercising.  Especially if you have limitations to consider.   Gradually work yourself up to more minutes and strenght.
