Hi all, I'm so excited, I'm getting a revision

I'm revising my mind

This is embarrasing but you all know the story.....  I had RNY Oct '03.  HW 305 SW 286 LW 146.  Had PS- looked great.  I maintained at 140-150 through 2008. I lead the local wls support group for years.   Then due to complications, emotional problems, addiction transference, issues, you name it I gained.

I gained & I didn't care, I ate anything, I binged, (I can eat 1/2 a bag of pacan sandies)  candy, no problems.  I felt miserable and was miserable.  I was the RNY failure poster boy I was such a looser.  I tried suicide.  I gave up.

I plodded on at life.

This December 12  I weighed and I was 244#  I have a handle on my addiction, and on the right meds for my depression.  I decided to go back to basics and try.

Now I am down 34#!!!!!!  I am eating like I did at first, trying to exercise, and the weight is coming off!  I look at the revision board and see people going for more surgery at the weight I was at.  But with your support I'm going to keep working at it, I hope this board gets busier, I'll try to imput more.

This is just what I needed to read today Pup!!!  Very inspiring for me. Congrats to you on revising your mind and losing 34 pounds!!!  Good job!! I am in the same boat for sure!  I considered a revision also last March and went for test and everything and I was told my pouch was fine and basically I had to work on my mind also.  So here I am still struggling but I have lost weight and that is the important thing.
Keep up the good work!!  You can do it!!

Hi Pup!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!  It's good to hear someone getting back on track.  I know exactly how you feel.  It's a *****!  It seems like I'm fighting a higher power.  I'm going through some changes on my psych meds and I'm all over the place.  You are truly an inspiration!
Keep on Botting!

Honestly, if my surgeon would do a revision on me I would have it in a flash...anything.  Lap band over the RNY, extended RNY...even diet pills.  He won't....so I am forced to diet.  It does come down to calorie in vs. calorie out.  Glad you are back botting.  Finding others for encouragement is more than half the battle.  So many of us are in the same boat.  take care, Just me

According to your ticker- you are lower than me- that's awesome.

Are you able to feel your pouch?  I started out with protein shakes and protien dense foods.  Soon I could feel full again, we all know how to eat past that fullness but   I stopped eating then.  I brought the fullness back and has been working well.

I had many complications after my RNY- I can't even picture going back under at this weight.  (my husband would've killed me)  I was still 50# less than my surgery weight. Now I'm 70# less.

My big worry of a revision for me is.... Nothing went wrong with my surgery, I just out ate it, if I got a revision what would stop me from doing it again?

Thanks

Pup

For me...the first 9 months were a breeze. Now here I am 3 years out...eating junk I have NO business eating...I have cried to DH more than once..."I want to feel like I did the first months post op." I just need to show some self control/discipline and focus on getting back on track.

And perfect timing...just got my delivery of CLICK Mocha & Vanilla Latte over the weekend. Today is as good a day as any!!!!!!!!

You can do it Barb.

I see you are an RN too.    You can feel like a newbie again, just without the fear (we all know we can eat about anything by now)  Listen to your pouch, stop drinking with meals.  Chicken usually makes me feel the pouch the most.  I eat chicken breast and broccoli a lot.  If I eat the broccoli with the chicken I can eat a lot more chicken.  If I eat the chicken first I can't fini****!

You can do it.  You got your click, start!

Hi Pup!!  I am thrilled to read  your post!  I am in the same boat as you were.  I had my RNY in 2006, as of today have gain 1/2 of my weight back and am sooooooo upset with myself.  About 7 months after my surgery a very close family member passed away and I went right back to eating the same old way.  It hurt my stomach, but I drank with my meals, ate the wrong food, and basically didn't keep up with my protein intake.  So here I am four years later trying to get myself "back on track"!   You have motivated me so much today and I love reading other post that sound like me and it let's me know that I am not the only one that really messes up after RNY.
Blessings to you!
Kathy
