Back On Track Together
Hello All! Introducing myself....
Hello! I had RNY gastric bypass four years ago, lost 90 lbs in the first seven months, then a close family member passed away and I have been slowly gaining back ever since. I am now within 30 lbs of my STARTING weight! I have got to get BACK ON TRACK! So one week ago, I got back to drinking my protein shake for breakfast, eating a boiled egg and slice of cheese for lunch and a reasonable dinner. I have been passing out now at least twice a day or at least getting very dizzy. Do you think that my body is in shock from going back to the high protein way of eating, again? My doctors are really stumped and have put me through every type test possible, to include EKG, chest x-rays, wearing a heart monitor, all types of lab and bloodwork. Can anyone offer me any help?
Hi Kathy!
Welcome to BOTT! Congrats on getting yourself back on track this past week. I really don't know what to tell you about your health. Hopefully, they will find something soon. Are you seeing your GP or your Bariatric Dr? The only thing that really comes to mind is your vitamins. I know that I need to tell my GP exactly what bloodwork I need done. They don't always run the tests for ALL the vitamins and different tests that we need.

It sounds like hypoglycemia or low blood pressure. Or both.
what you describe - it doe snot look like you are eating enough. Your BS may be dropping. A lot of us has that post op RNY. I have to make sure that I eat 6-7 times a day. Small meals. And making sure there are proteins and fat and some complex carbs. Otherwise - I crash.
I also had to increase the amount of salts and minerals in my diet.
Make sure you get all your vitamins and minerals. That is also very important.
