Lets set up goals for the end of December 2010.

two points:
1. Goals for December 2010
2. NSV and SV for year 2010 - what have you learn about yourself.

And after this challenge ends - there will be some "Surprise Goodie Box" to be sent to randomly selected person who participate at the beginning and share with us the progress - the findings - at the end of December 2010. So - you need to post at least 2 times - in this message and at the end of the month - beginning of January - deadlinbe will be January 11th, 2011

NSV = non scale victory (example - learning something new, or be able to get off medication, learning how to control RH, etc)
SV = scale victory or size victory (that just vanity - scale or size i.e. weight loss or getting into size ... 6 with no issues)

O.K., I think I got it!
1.  I plan on losing 5 lbs. during the month of December.
2.  Religiously take my VITAMINS!  I just got my counts back and am really low on Vit D.
3.  Bake my usual amount of cookies, but only take 1 bite, if necessary, to see how they turned out.
4.  Take 2 yoga twice a week along with working out at the gym at least 3-4 times a week.
Looking and thinking about the New Year's goals
1.  Before I decide to eat something not on my plan, ask myself, if anything falls under HALT, Hungry, Angry, Lonesome or Tired.
2.  Try journaling my thoughs from the day and how I did.
3.  Volunteer
I'm sure more will come in the next few weeks.
Deb
P.S. Thanks for doing this HALA!

Thanks Hala!  I will reply to this tomorrow after meditation and reflection on something realistic.  Too tired tonight to concentrate....:-)

Great idea, Hala! I did not quite make my weight loss goal for the Thanksgiving challenge but it was really helpful in motivating me to stay on track, which I did for the most part.

My goals for December and the end of 2010...

- Log everything, every day, period.
- Drink at least 40 ounces of water, try for more
- Take all vitamins, every day
- Take the time to exercise for the physical and emotional health benefits.
- Reach 189 by New Year's Eve.

Best of luck to all - looking forward to hearing about your progress!

Steph

Thanks for the challenge though I've never been good at challenges.

So far 2010 has been a big challenge so starting today my goals for December are:

1.  Journal daily and weigh weekly
2.  Drink at least 32 oz of water daily along with daily vitamins
3.  Exercise at least 15 minutes daily
4.  Eat protein first at least 70 grams daily.

These are reasonable and should not overwhelm me.  May then 2011 can be stepped up and keep me on track.
Thanks Hala

I am in....

1. Eat real meals...
2. Make it to the gym 4 times per week (I have already been working on this)
3. Drink my water- 64 oz per day minimum
4. Make it bed on time- no working until the whee hours of the morning
5. Document my eating every day
6. Control the stress eating

I have learned alot about my self this year. I thought bariatric surgery would cure my weight problem...until I stopped losing weight. But I have figured out that I can do this. I have learned that alot of my issue is stress eating. I don't even realize I am eating until it is all gone. I have to learn to not stress. There is nothing in my life I am willing to kill myself over, I cannot graze because I do not know how to stop. Until I can control myself, I need to avoid these things. I am learning to tell myself NO...you can't and won't.

Still work in progress....
