Getting Back on Track

After falling off the wagon for a multitude of reasons, I'm climbing back on - need to get a handle on snacking/grazing, portion size and exercise to lose the 40 pounds that have crept back on in the last 4 years - so far so good today - no snacking! Realizing I need to check in daily for some additonal support.

You have come to the right place as it seems that many of us have 40ish pounds to lose.  I am logging my food (even the bad days) on the OH health tracker.  I read the other day that an average person eats 4000 calories on Thanksgiving.  The menu was very similar to my family's menu.  I figure even my worst days have less calories if I write them down because I am thinking about what I am eating and end up eating less than I would have without tracking.  Hopefully we can get through the holidays together a little healthier.  There is a Thanksgiving challenge going on a few pages back.  Welcome aboard. Hi Viqueenfan,
Welcome to BOTT!  It's so easy to fall back in bad habits.   It helps to plan your meals, join us on the daily Cafe/Cardio forum.  There's not much action on the board right now, but in a few weeks it will be hopping again!
You can do this!

Hello and welcome! Think we're all here for the same reason and we can do it! Logging helps me a lot, so does pre-planning and making sure I have plenty of healthy snacks around and eating denser protein.

Add me in.  I have gained about 20 that needs to go, but I never got to goal in the first place.

I find that tracking does help, but I can't seem to do the "planning" like some.  I DO plan, don't get me wrong, but I can't post today's food first thing in the morning.  I have to track as the day goes.  It still keeps me more mindfull of what I am putiing in my mouth and WHY.

Tell someone that you love them!

Good for you for climbing back on.  I'm getting back on track, too.  Slowly but surely.

P.S.  How about those Vikings?  :)  I don't know about you, but like many people's signs at the game on Sunday, I'm of the opinion to "Waive Chilly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
