Attend to your spirit.

Attend to your spirit.

Your heart and soul need nurturing. Many people who have WLS are wounded souls. In fact, the same is probably true of the general population. Treating yourself kindly, listening to yourself, feeding your soul with love—these things are vital to how you will define yourself following WLS.

Take a gentle approach with yourself as you make time for attending to your spirit.

Action for the day: Spend some time today being nurturing and loving toward yourself. Sometimes self nurturing takes a lot of practice. So, practice.

"Attending to your spirit" is something I have lost along the way. I have forgotten how to be kind and nurturing to myself.  It's so easy to nurture others and I find great comfort in that but attending to my own spirit is difficult, for many reasons I suppose.

Thanks for bringing this up.  I will begin today practicing but don't know exactly how to start! I have been so engrossed in the physical realms this past year I have sorely neglected my spirit.  Thanks so much, Molly, for the gentle reminder!

Hi Diane, I am just hanging out today and thought I would say HI.   I hope you are having a good weekend.  I know the past year has been tough for you and I just want you to know that we are not alone in this BOTT thing.  I read your post on the emotional eating entry started by Cathy.  If it helps any I also have problem sleeping.  I take two 25mg benedryl to sleep at night.  They are over the counter and no prescription is needed.

Would a substantial protein type snack before bed help?  At least you have a handle on what your eating mistake is.

We just have to keep working at it and have patience and persistance.  We will get closer to our goals.

Just me
