Thanksgiving challenge - one month to go...

8 lbs - aggressive goal - but doable... go...DCGIRL. You can do it. That's only 2 lbs a week... (I know  lol. it is not "Only").
How about extending the goal and make sure you do not gain any on Thanksgiving? ( I know it is tough - but that is my new addition to my goals) . I am planning to go hiking - one or 2 days, during the Thanksgiving (weather allow).

Thanks, Hala - I like that goal. I don't want to undo my hard work by out of control eating. I'm planning on some extra indulgences for the holiday but am menu planning WLS friendly substitutes that everyone can enjoy and, of course, practicing moderation. I'm also going to get rid of leftovers I shouldn't it by offering them to my guests. I will also be incorporating exercise and drinking lots of water. Let's do his!

Just checking in; here was my goal:

My Thanksgiving goal:
1. Cut out sugar (candy, deserts, white foods)
It's time.  Sugar is holding me back.  It served a purpose at one time in my life, but now I'm going to let it go.

And here's how I'm doing . . .

It's going okay, I've been going back and forth with this; telling myself that I really don't need to completely cut it out (sugar's very powerful ) when I know I really need to be completely DONE with it.  The good thing is that I've eaten A LOT less than I would have and I've lost 6lbs since I started!

So today in my mind I'm reminding myself that I'm fine without sugar.  I'm trying to take it moment to moment to see if I can make it to Thanksgiving.

Cheers!

I am not doing OK, but not giving up either. Thanks for posting Hala

1. Eliminating more carbs, eating more protein, and more clean eating and less processed foods.  Needs to improve greatly.

2.
360+ minutes of exercise each week.  I have the exercise down pat and since I joined challenge on MFP, I have consistenly been doing 360 min most weeks.  This week I am shooting for burning 3000 calories but I am still counting min every week.  Exercise is not my problem.  I have to get the eating under control.

3. Lose 23 lbs by December 1st.-- SW361/GW338 - CW 367 - I have gained 6 pounds!

4. Continue to work on night time grazing and weekend grazing.  Needs to improve greatly.

5.  Getting more sleep in each night by going to bed at least an hour earlier most week nights.
I forgot about this goal but I will start tonight focusing on getting to bed by 10.

Hi Molly, it is great you are moving. once i stopped when i got sick 2 months ago - I have not been doing much.  i almost went to yoga this morning... but that's almost...

As with other things - it is good to know what you need to work on.
For me the most  challenging are the evenings.  i can pack on calories.  lately I have been going to bed earlier.  That helps a lot.
I will try to go to yoga today after work... maybe... If I do not - i will go home and eat... and then eat some more...
