Back On Track Together
What have you done right lately?
Someone posted this on my local board recently, and I love this idea. If you are like me, you focus too much on the negative and not enough on the positive. What have you done right lately? I have:
- since September 1, I have worked out my planned 3x/week with very few exceptions.
- in the last week, I have declined cake/sweets at events/meetings. (Despite being asked multiple times "Are you sure you don't want a piece?")
- I have, in the last few months, been coming on to OH almost daily, to look for inspiration, support, and people who can relate and truly understand, and to help keep me focused
- I completed the 5 day pouch test a few weeks ago, and it was very helpful on getting me back on track
So, what have you done right lately?

Hi Kathy-
It is true. I feel so much happier when I count my blessings. When I get myself in a pity party counting my blessings gets my feet back on the ground.
You are doing great. 2 months of getting to the gym is an accomplishment. Declining sweets is very hard if they are around you. People mean well when they offer though.
The 5 day pouch test is really difficult. Congratulations!
Like so many others, I am off all my diabetes medications since my RNY and my A1Cs are within my target range. My biggest blessing!
Each day I try to accept myself as I am. Not more and not less. I am grateful for my talents and am continually working on my shortcomings.
I am looking at personal belongings as only "stuff". Stuff doesn't make me happier. Actually sometimes less stuff makes my life easier.
When the "fan does turns brown" I try to offer it up and keep pushing myself in the right direction.
I am so happy that I found this group. I have been reading old posts. I found so many people here that are walking in my shoes. Supporting each other and helping each other up when we fall will get all of us to our goals.
1. I am committed to eat under 1600 calories every day and log my food...no excuses.
2. I am committed to working out 5 times a week...no matter what.
3. I am accepting that it will take a long, long time to get to a normal BMI...seriously what is the rush. I took a long time to get here, too.
I am only on day 4 of BOT so I am enthused. I am counting on the regulars and the newly charged to help me keep my motivation going til I get to my goal and then to maintain for the rest of my life.
Thanks for posting this topic. Have a great day.
