Kinda good news

Well, I think we figured out why "some" of my eating has been out of control.  I take 5 different meds for anxiety and bi-polar disorder, various amounts at different times.  Well last month when I had my epidurals for my bulging disc the back doctor put me on a strong med for my nerve endings.  I've had to work my way up weekly to the max amount of 1800mg a day.  I've noticed that I had been feeling pretty good, because my back was feeling so much better.  I also noticed that I was spending quite alot of money for things that I really didn't need. And then my eating being out of control.  I realized that I was on a major upswing of my bipolar.  I went to my psychologist and shared my findings.  We were talking about my different med and I mentioned about the new meds for my back.  When she looked it up she put it together.  The new meds caused many people severe drowsiness and lethargy.  It affected a very small number of people the total opposite, with all of my symptoms.  So now I have to wean myself off very slowly for the next 4 weeks.
This just shows you how different doctors don't listen to you.  I specifically asked the back doc about adverse reactions and he told me that there weren't any!
So, take note of any new meds and different signs of your body!

Good being proactive in your health.  All meds have side affects.  I love it that the pharmacy gives you a list and I read it all the wayt through.

Hang in there Deb. I can so relate to doctor's not listening or giving you all the information. I've had them try to give me things I'm allergic to with my chart right in front of them with it on it!  Almost killed me with spironolactone back in 2003.  That was really scary - good thing I was late taking my meds and noticed improvment. Looked it up and sure as the world it said it could CAUSE swelling (my edema was so bad I could barely breath and my heart rate was always above 100) and should not be taken if you are sensitive to sulfa... which I am.  If I'd taken the doctor's advice I'd likely have died.
