Back On Track Together
End of September goals. - How did you do?
How did you do in September?
Have you been following the good food plan?
Vitamins and exercise?
How do you feel?
What do you think you need to do now?
I have not been doing as well as I would like to. I still do not eat junk, but some of the foods, once forbidden in my diet have been creeping back to it. Why? stress, and being sick. When I get sick I do not want to eat, but since I know I should - I compromise with myself and eat whatever I can. Some of them are not the best choices, but at least I eat something.
Last 2 weeks - I have been dealing with a horrible flu- cold - whatever it is. Do not want to eat. Did not eat enough.. and the results? i gained 3 lbs. I know, since I did not get enough calories or proper nutrition - I should lose the weight, theoretically. But practically not giving my body what it needs, and how much it needs made me gain weight. So when people write that you need to limit the calories to lose weight - i just smile. Since that only works for a while and only for a short period of time. Once out body discovers what do we do - it will try to retain any calories you give it. 2. 5 years post op - my body learn how to survive on close to nothing. So any what it consider "extra" - can be put away.
For me to be able to lose weight - I need to eat 1500-1800 cal per day. If I do less than 1000 for a while , my body starts freaking out and on days that I am able to eat more - saves any and all extra it can.

Hi H2 and Botters!
I had to go back and see what my goals were and if I kept them.
-Daily posting of food - Yep!
-Keeping trigger foods out of the house - nope
-Taking vitamins - nope, really having a hard time because I take so much other meds at different times during the day.
-Lose at least 8 lbs - nope
-Hopefully getting back to exercising- yep, started Yoga and LOVE it
-Experimenting new low carb foods and snacks - yep
So, overall, did just O.K. It's a new month and I can work on the my new set of goals along with the old ones.

Hello everyone!! It was a good month for Molly. Best one so far and the fact that I am losing something every month makes me very happy!! Thank all of you for encouragement! BOTT POWER!
Thanks H2 for posting this monthly. It really helps us be mindful of our goals and what needs to be tweaked. I am glad to see more activity since the kids are back in school.
Goals for September were:
1. Follow closely the guidelines set out in the class I am taking starting tonight. It is a telephone class designed specifically for WLS patients. I am very excited too.
Class was good, really about mental issues and hashing this out. A+ for director of class. I may take another in Jauary if I can afford it and if needed.
2. Lose 7 pounds by October 1st. 5 pounds lost! I am happy with that for sure!(SW 366/CW 361/GW358)
3. Continue to work on night time grazing and weekend grazing. I am really good on work days while at work. Doing better and going to bed earlier helps.
