It is the last day of the month and the challenge.
- How did you do?
- What did you learn about yourself and your habits?
- Did you develop new habits?

What are your plans for the next month and month after that?

"A small gift basket - surprise "
At the end of the week I will gather all names of those who posted in the august challenge and select a random winner to receive some " care package" (goodies for RNY person - some protein samples, some prot bars, etc.) the person will have one week to give me his/ her address (or decline..) for me to send the package.

BTW: I can start a next challenge in October - with a finish line - Thanksgiving. - if you guys want it - let me know

How did I do?  great in some areas - so so good in others.   I accomplished my goal of losing weight - so - I know I can do it... just takes time and practice.

Here are my goals: (red indicates my how I did)

1.     Maintain my weight – and make sure I drop to within my weight goal -  done – the whole month I was within my goal range 145 -150.

2.     Yoga and other exercise –

· Yoga  - min 4 times a week,  - Done.

·  Walk – min 1 mile per day average – can be done in one day a week – or 1 miles a day – but only brisk walking count (no mall, shopping, or like that counts – that is a bonus)  - met my goal this month – walked over 30 miles..

3.     Healthy eating –

a.      no artificial sweeteners,  - none - done

b.     no “junk food"  - including the fudgesickles.  - done

c.     a lot of vegetables and proteins: based on my meals – proteins + not so good - did not have enough veggies.  Need to work on that.

d.     some fruits – 2 serving of fruits a day - done.

e.     No Alcohol.  Still working on that – but doing much better.

f.      Limit coffee to 1 a day.  - done.

 4.    Vitamins and minerals: Make a schedule and make sure to take it every day.  ALL of them.  - Still working on that...  meaning - I did not do too well on that...

5.     Keep my house organized... and pay bills on time...

Septemeber goals:

Same as August.  Continue doing what I am doing and be good at it.

Improve on the one I still have not accomplished.

With all of the stress I have been dealing with...I did better than I expected.  I made it back to the boards to log my foods.  Been getting in some exercising and even managed to drop about 3lbs. which I am very happy about.

Been faithful to my meds, vitamins, but stll working on getting in all my fluids.

September will find me reaching more goals than not.

I like the idea of having goals....I did not participate for August since I'm new to this team; but I will participate for September.

September goals:

--get back to my weight range of 148-152. I've been around 155 for a couple of weeks now.
--get back to exercising at least 4 days a week for at least 30 minutes; I took off for PS and then for summer travel but restarted this week.
--post my food intake online, if not at the beginning of the day then at the end.
--concentrate on getting all my vitamins in; I'm very good about the first two doses; it's the last one at night that has me stumped.

I have been in control of the night eating, and my weight stayed the same, but I was really hoping it would go DOWN.    Well, it beats going up!

Hi all!
I think I did very well for August. These were my goals and results; (RESULTS IN CAPS, DON´T KNOW HOW TO CHANGE COLORS)
My August Goals Are:

1. Continue my meal plan which has been working well
I ATE WELL THE GREATEST PART OF THE MONTH. THERE WERE 3 DAYS WHERE I REALLY LET THE BALL DROP, BUT I MANAGED TO RECOVER AND GAIN BACK CONTROL OF MY FOOD CHOICES. ALL IN ALL THIS WAS A VERY POSITIVE MONTH WHERE A LOT OF MY MEAL DECISIONS BECAME FAIRLY AUTOMATIC AND POSITIVE.

2. Sign up for a beginner yoga class and go atleast 4 times.
IT TOOK ME UNTIL THE END OF THE MONTH TO SIGN UP FOR CLASSES. THE IDEA OF LEARNING A NEW SKILL WAS DAUNTING. BUT I DID MANAGE! I FOUND A PILATES CLASS AND TOOK PRIVATE LESSONS TO LEARN THE TECHNIQUE. I´M NOW ENROLLED IN A TWICE A WEEK PILATES CLASS AND I AM LOVING IT! I FEEL SO MUCH MORE ENERGIZED! I WAS SO SCARED OF EVEN TRYING AND MY INSTRUCTOR KEEPS TELLING ME I´M A NATURAL, THAT I´M DOING GREAT. I´M JUST SORRY NOW THAT I WAITED THIS LONG TO START. BUT THIS IS FUN AND GOOD AND I DID IT IN PART THANKS TO MY AUGUST CHALLENGE! SO THANKS!!

3. Be nice to myself- go get my hair done, or a pedicure or something equally pampering!
I WAS ULTRA NICE TO MYSELF. MY HAIR IS NORMALLY A FRIZZY MESS AND I WENT IN TO HAVE A HAIR TREATMENT DONE THAT´S MADE IT SO MUCH MORE MANAGABLE, IT MAKES ME FEEL PRETTY. I´M ACTUALLY PAYING A LITTLE MORE ATTENTION TO HOW I DRESS AND HOW I LOOK. I HAD NO IDEA SOMETHING SO SMALL COULD MAKE SUCH A BIG DIFFERENCE TO MY PERCEPTION OF MYSELF. I FEEL SO MUCH PRETTIER!! AND THAT´S SUCH A GOOD FEELING AFTER SO MANY YEARS BEING SO HARD ON MYSELF...

SO THANK YOU FOR THE AUGUST CHALLENGE AND THANKS FOR BEING HERE.

MARISA
