How do you stop the 3:00pm sugar cravings?

Recently I've been having a really bad sugar craving around 3:00pm. I don't bring any sweets to work with me, but I find myself looking everywhere for something sweet to eat. Any ideas of how to tackle this problem? Thanks   Omee

I used to take a small cooler to work and pack sugar free jello. It was always a nice little treat. They also say (and has been my experience) that when you crave sweet it will go away if you eat something sour like a dill pickle.

Best of luck Omee...

That mean that your sugar is dropping... what time is your lunch?  if at 12:00 then schedule the next snack at 2;30... before your sugar drops.  maybe your lunch has too many carbs?   Even complex carbs cause me to get the low sugars after 2 -3 hrs.
I eat 6 meals a day.  And eat lunch at 11-12 then snack at 2, another at 4-4;30, then dinner.. then LNS...

I eat every 2-3  - and having a prot shake - is a meal for me.

To carb my sweet craving and give me the afternoon energy - I drink green tea 1 hr after lunch, and then the mid afternoon snack is typically plain yogurt+ protein powder + fruits, or cheese + veggies, or meat + veggies.  sometimes I grab a few nuts... Low carbs. That keeps my BS very stable.

I plan a snack of fruit at that time. With it being summer, there are so many sweet, extra delicious fruits available.

Other things I use are a 1/2 of a protein bar or I'll even eat some turkey or beef jerky just for the chewing that I sometimes need. Other times, I'll plan to make a phone call around that time that will serve as a distraction if I'm "wanting" something versus really hungry for something.

I hope that helps!
