Don't over react to overeating.

Don't overreact to overeating.

So, you've made a small blunder in your diet. Treat it as a small blunder.

When you make a misstep, do not then give in to the temptation to throw in the towel all together. Just say, "Oops," and then do the next right thing. The mistake is not as important as what you do in response to it. Chalk up the incident to being human, forgive yourself, and jump right back on track.

Action for the day: Whenever you find yourself straying from your WLS lifestyle, pause and ask yourself, "What is the next right thing to do?" Then, do it.

Thanks Mollie!  I'm putting a little note on my desk with "do the next right thing".  I've heard it before, but needed to be reminded!

This is a good one.  I have really been struggling.  I know what to do and what not to do, but I don't always do the right thing and usually - usually mind you - I have put off the desired forbidden foods for quite a while before finally succumbing and let me tell you - I've had a lot of health issues and family stresses lately and I have fallen more than I care to admit, but I will admit it, and I will get back up, dust myself off and try to do the next right thing.  Thanks Molly!

I completely understand.  I am in the same boat.  I have good days and bad days but I am finally making some progress this year.  I have not gained and I have lost a few pounds too boot.  So I can't complain.  Just don't give up or throw in the towel.  It is worth the effort for sure.

Thanks Mollie, this is truly great advice. I´ve been trying hard lately but it´s been tough going this past week. Next time I make an eating blunder, I´ll spend my frustration energy on not throwing in the towel and doing the right thing!
Have a great day!
