I Need an Intervention

It seems that since my change from night work to day, not only am I having a hard time adjusting to the sleeping, but also staying on track with my eating.  I have been so depressed with my failures.  I am praying that I find the inner strength to stay the course and take it a day at a time.

I thought to myself last night when I was preparing for the surgery how determined I was to do all the doctor required of me.  I must now take that same determination to do what I need to do to get my health and weight loss back on track.

Dreamgirl I can feel your frustration.  Please stop being so hard on yourself.  It is very difficult for our bodies to adjust to time changes.  Give yourself a little more time to adjust.  I found when I had to make this transition it helped to be very scheduled with my sleep and feeding times.

You are a very strong and determined lady.  You are a success and will continue to be a success.  You can do this.

You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Goody, we are always harder on ourselves than anyone else.  I will hang in there and take it one day at a time.

The sleep deprivation may interfere with your body and it causes insulin resistance - that means that your body has a hard time to provide nourishment to your cells - so you get hungry and a lot of stress hormones get released - prompting you to eat more and more carbs.
Try to get more sleep - If nothing else - use mild sleep pills (or Benadryl - does me in like a charm) slowly decreasing the dosages as the week progressing.  You need to get sleep so your body could function.

Thank you so much for the information...at least now I know why I am feeling this way and why I'm so hungry.
