So I posted this back a few weeks on the main board, but I want to hear from this group in particular, since I am 5 years out and not "new". I have 30 lbs to loose to get back to goal, this is "baby" weight....but it needs to go all the same since baby is 2 now!!! I want to know how restrictive you are with your carbs...are we talking Adkins restrictive....or just slightly limiting them? The more details the better!!! Thanks for all your replies in advance!!

I am not as far out as you but it's been some time now.  I can't tolerate bread, rice, noodles, etc anyway so I  just decided no more of those carbs. There was no point in being miserable.   I lost 3# already.  It hasn't even been a week yet.

If I need - want to lose weight - then I do limit them.  No starchy crbs, maybe some from berries and non-starchy veggies (like greens).
When I am determined to lose weight - my diet my resemble low fat Atkins - first phase - the induction.  But make sure you get enough fiber - fiber does not count as carbs.  And a lot of water.

I am also 5 years out and 30 lbs from goal, mine is due to poor eating on my part.  I went to see the dietitan this week and she told me not to concern myself with my carb count but worry about the protein keeping it up high. She does not want me to have any white starchy foods though keeping my starches if I have to have them to whole wheat products in very limited abouts. I am also allowed one snack in the evening as long as it is a high protein one. Hope this helps, God Bless. Also congrats on your little one.
