I've had sciatica too. I found yoga "exercises" very helpfu, and once you ae able to get up and around, watch sitting for long periods of time.

Ouch - I know from personal experience how much sciatica hurts.

I herniated my L5 S1 TWICE, the second time I was 21 weeks pg.  UGGH.

Had surgery twice and now that I have lost weight have only had one episode.  I was overdoing it at the gym and my back went out.  I knew it wasn't a muscle, so I went to the dr and was put on Vicodin muscle relaxers and prednisone.  It took care of the problem but scared me into mellowing out a little on the high impact workouts.

Anyway, I hope everything heals and you feel better soon - if you don't get relief in a reasonable time, get an MRI - I know I wasted to much time with chiropractors before I had one.  Not that chiropractors didn't help, but my disc was herniated beyond what physical therapy and chiropractors could do.
