ok had trouble last night...after my evening meal (1 c home made chili w/beans) and dishes done AND baths given.... i was a little hungry...i layed there thinking i could make my self go to bed hungry..while i wondered if 1 cup of food was enough for me to even be hungry so soon..i started measuring yesterday...but all i could think about really was a bowl of cereal. yes i gave in..i ate a small bowl...now that i look back at it ..i should have eaten a yogurt or something else with more protein i suppose...i want to do this, make good choices and i know , i know it is all a personal decision....i guess in my mind i was going to " mess up " by eating at all so ate the cereal ( honey bunches of oats about 1 cup and 2% milk )  and yes was satisfied physically but mentally i felt sad that i did... i do well while i am at work cause i plan and eat what i have...
it is night time that i wish i could pass up all together...so here is what i plan on eating today and hopefully this will satisfy me...and i stick to it...

em        coffee w/splenda and creamer
bkfst      2 boiled eggs and 1 c strawberries
lunch     imitation crab w/ steamed veggies
dinner    beef roast w / baby carrots
snack    syntha 6 protein shake w/1c pineapple blended in
cal 1257  fat 48  carb 117 pro 91
are these stats ok??  is this too many carbs?

Are the carrots cooked or raw? if they are cooked - they will have higher GI index.  While I need losing weight - I usually limit how many "sweet" things I have.  To me (but every is different) too many simple sugars will make me hungry, and will prevent me losing weight.

I treat carrots as "sweet" things, like fruits.  And since i allow myself 2 fruits a day (unless i need to gain weight) having carrots and 2 fruits 1 day would not be an option.  I would have green beans, or asparagus, or pickle, or cuc, etc.
Also - 1 c pineapple will be too many sugars at once - i would use 1/2 cup and then maybe  (is i need to) more berries.
I try to split my food into 6 meals. It works better for me and allow me to get LNS - so I do not go hungry to bed. (i.e. will have 2 LF cheese sticks, or 1/2 cup of yogurt w/ flax meal and SF syrup)

It worked well for me. B****reat Tomato as a "fruit".  It has a lot of sugar ...
But - berries - i can even eat a lb at a time (on maintnace) and it never bothered me. But give me banana - and after an hr my BS will drop - reactive hypoglycemia. Not sure how things like tat work - but my body reacts to to many simple starches (like carrots, beets, potatoes, banana, etc).  And i stop losing weight if I introduce more fruits in my diet.  calorie wise - it does not make sense - but my body does not care "calorie wise" it does what it does.  lol.

They provide healthy fiber, good omega 3 oils - and since it is fiber - once mixed in yogurt - make it thicker (I also add it to soups).  This is a natural, unprocess fiber we can find.

I am SO with you on this one!  I have the same problem.  In fact, I found that after the surgery (lapband) I lost 70 pounds.  I got married a year ago and gained 10 back!  As soon as he moved in the weight loss stopped.  There is just too much food in the house.  Hubby does all the cooking.  It is SO hard to eat one thing while he eats another.  Or to watch him eat potato chips or have a salami sandwich 2 hours after dinner!

I really need to get back on the track.  It is so easy to say, just this once or it won't make a difference.  I'm trying to get through the Beck Diet Solution and it seems to he helping a bit.  Last night I ate my zuchinni while I watched my husband eat Italian sausage with French bread slathered in butter.  I listened to every crunch of that bread!  But I didn't ask for a taste!  maybe this is a new beginning.

By the way, I LOVE that cereal!

Cajun,
Planning really does help!  It's good that you asked for help, it's why we are all herecheer3od.gif
I always have to have something before bed, so yogurt is my "go to" food.
Keep on BOTTing!
